The records show that George M. Looney, not found as George Martin
Looney, Private, Company K, later B, later G, 2nd Regiment Louisiana
Infantry, Confederate States Army, enlisted May 11, 1861, at New Orleans,
La. for one year.
He was discharged July 30, 1862, by reason of expiration of service and
the Conscript Act, age 17 years, height 5 feet 8 inches, born in Lawrence
County, Alabama, dark complexion, black eyes, dark hair, and by occupation
a farmer.

Since the Mortuary Warrant for confederate pensioner Mr. George Martin
Looney was issued to you, this is to notify you that $25.00 Confederate
Pension Warrants as follows, which were issued to him, have never been
presented to this department for payment:

( This letter is requesting duplicate Warrants be issued for two which
were lost or destroyed. The warrants were $25.00 pension payments. The
letter mentioned above from Charley Lockhart was sent by the State
Treasurer, Charley Lockhart, informing E. W. how to apply for duplicate warrants.)
The comptroller replied to this letter telling E. W. Looney there were
two bonds enclosed and how to use them to apply for duplicate warrants for
Confederate pension warrants which were lost.
