MT. PISGAH BAPTIST CHURCH
1874-1884
Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, located
in the Pottsville area, was founded before 14 August, 1874, when it
was a member of the Bosque River Baptist Association , where it
maintained fellowship until 13 August, 1875. The Comanche Baptist
Association admitted Mt. Pisgah on 1 October, 1875. Mt.
Pisgah was dismissed from the Comanche Association on 30
August, 1878. It was admitted to the Hamilton County Baptist
Association on 9 September, 1878, when Joseph Alexander Land was
its pastor. When Mt. Pisgah was admitted
to Hamilton County Baptist Association, the minutes indicated that
this church had been organized in 1878 by Joseph Alexander
Land.

This church disappeared about 1884. Since Mt. Pisgah
Baptist Church did not own a building, it is assumed that it met in
the Mt. Pisgah School.
