BAPTIST TO CONDUCT BIG OPEN AIR REVIVAL
______
We are glad to have this opportunity to invite the
public to our open air revival beginning on July 8th and continuing
through the 22nd. This is an opportune time for a revival of this nature.
We will be outdoors at night and in the house for the day services, and we
want you to attend.
We have two of the most capable men that can be had.
Rev. C. Y. Dossy of Dallas will bring the gospel to us twice a day. We
hope that you will hear him from the beginning of the meeting to the end.
Brother Johnnie Cohen, a converted Jew will have charge
of the song services and he is reputed to be one of the best singers of
the state. He is a consecrated soul winner and you will enjoy hearing him.
Come and join the choir, don’t wait until you are called upon. It doesn’t
matter whether you are a Baptist or not--join the choir and let your voice
be heard in the singing of the gospel. We are expecting the public to help
us.
July 8th which is the first day of the revival, has been
set aside as a home-coming event. We want all of our friends and former
members to come and be with us on this date for a great get-together
meeting. All the old pastors are coming back and we want a word from them.
We will have lunch at the church and the public is invited to attend. The
Baptists will all bring food and feed the entire assembly. Following is

[First Baptist Church had an
"outside auditorium" between the church building on the south
side and the parsonage on the north side. At the east end was an elevated
stage area for the choir and pulpit. The entire outside auditorium was
carpeted in grass and was cooled by summer breezes and hand-held
fans.--Elreeta Weathers]
