The Herald of 1897 had the following to say of Arthur Eidson:

"Our present county attorney is a young man who in a very few years has stepped into the arena of professional life at a single stride by being elected to the office of county attorney over the late incumbent by a large majority. He is a son of J. A. Eidson, Esq., who stands at the head of the local bar of this county. He was born in 1875 and attended the local schools, assisting his father a Portion of this time in his farm and stock business. Four years ago he matriculated in the Southwestern

University at Georgetown, where he remained two years. He began to prepare himself for the legal profession soon after, and in 1896 came before the public as a candidate for county attorney, to which he was elected."

Mr. Eidson is still practicing law in Hamilton (1938), and is one of the best known attorneys in Central Texas.
