DAN McFATTER --1897
McFatter, a Mississippian by birth came to Texas in
1881, to Hico in 1883, and to Hamilton in 1895. In 1897 he was managing
the Iron Front Livery Stable. To quote from the old paper:
"McFatter is a good feeder. Unlike some livery men,
he has a conscience that prompts him not to starve the travelers’
horses, but gives them water, feed, and good grooming to prepare them for
their onward journey. He keeps his own horses in good trim, has good
handsome vehicles, and is always ready to put himself out to accommodate a
customer. "
The County News has been informed that Mr. McFatter
married a step-daughter of Monroe Embrey, and that he is now (1938) a
commissioner in Canadian Texas.
