DR. GEO. F. PERRY --1897
[DR. GEORGE FREDERICK
PERRY]
Dr. Perry, born in Missouri, came to Hamilton in 1870 as
a young physician. To quote from the 1897 paper:
"His connection with the drug business has existed
since 1878, when he embarked in it with a capital of only $300. As first
organizer and principal stock-holder in Perry’s Bank and subsequently
president of the Hamilton National Bank, he has shown his capacity to
successfully pull through the severe financial crisis that has driven some
of our strongest banking concerns to the wall, with perfect safety to
depositors and stockholders. He has always been a pronounced Democrat in
politics and in 1890 was elevated to the legislature, in which position he
served with distinction."
Dr. Perry was an older brother of E. A. Perry, president
of the Perry National Bank here now.
