J. G. W. PIERSON, SR.

Among the most famous pioneers of Hamilton County was J. G. W. Pierson, who, before coming here, was surveyor general for Robertson’s Colony at Viesca in Falls County on the Brazos. He made the original survey of the city of Austin. When a young man he was a member of the Mier Expediton of 1842 and drew a white bean.

Descendants of his now living in Hamilton are Craik, Ocran, and Miss Johnnie Pierson, F. C. and J. M. Williams.
