(Brother of Samuel R., author of Co. Aytch.) This from Gary Hudspeth, 10 Sep 2006 "I have a clue about the year. June 22-24, 1897 was the 7th annual CSA veterans reunion in Nashville, TN, to coincide with the Tennessee Centennial and International Exposition. According to the Confederate Veterans magazine, it was the largest, with 15,000 CSA veterans in attendance. Special rail excursions were formed to take the men to battlefield locations nearby. I noticed that several of the men are wearing ribbons on their suits. This was the custom then, much like convention "badges" worn now. I have my great-great-grandfather's ribbon from the 1897 reunion. It is not as wide as the ones in the picture, so your picture may be a different "reunion" or there may have been several manufactures of ribbons." Gary Hudspeth
