The Berks County Historical Society is located at 940 Center Avenue in Reading, Pa.

On November 13th, 1999, they hosted "My Great-Grandmother's House."

They had lots of "hands on" activites for children do participate in.

We saw this man spin wool.

On this table were 10 objects from the "Olden Days." Children were to write down what they thought the objects were. My daughter Tiffany guessed all 10 objects. They were amazed. I told them that she is my grandmother reincarnated.

Here they are making a piece of patchwork quilt that will be sewed together and used on the childs bed in the "Hands On Room".

On this table were games used by children in the 1800's.

The Hands On Room

My children and their friends love that room no matter how old they are. They love to "dress up" in the clothing that is in the closet.

The following pictures are some of the activities in the room.

Daughter Nicole and the Butter Churn.

Friend Alisa working in the Post Office.

Buggy Ride

Milk Carrier Tiffany.
