SOME PEOPLE OF INTEREST FROM THIS CHART:

SAMUEL NELSON - Constable in the New South Wales Police Force. He joined the force on August 5, 1857 at the age of 34 years, and was killed on January 26, 1865, when shot by John Dunn, one of Ben Hall's gang of bushrangers. He was attempting to arrest Dunn and two other bushrangers, Ben Hall and John Gilbert. The shooting took place at the small town of Collector, near Goulburn, NSW. outside what was then known as Kimberley's Inn. Nelson was remembered as a local hero.

WILLIAM EVANS - an English 'Military Officer' who, when he died was given a full military funeral at Plymouth.

REV.  PRIOR - Father of Richard Prior (according to his great grand-daughter, Emma Evans) 'was a clergyman Church of England, very much respected and loved. he was spoken of as good "Parson Prior", his son (Richard Prior) became a Wesleyan in those days they were almost a new sect. There is a story in the family', wrote Emma to her sister, Mary Ellen, 'that Grandpa met John Wesley, entertained him in his home, was converted, so became a true Wesleyan. Personally, I don't think this is true.'
