5694. Harold Lewis SPENCER was born on 13 Feb 1917 in Bradford, McKean Co., PA. He died on 28 May 1985 in Buffalo, Erie Co., NY. He was buried on 31 May 1985 in Pleasant Valley, Olean, Cattaragus Co., NY. Harold served in WW2, with the 13th Armored Division, Europe. He was a member of the Olean Lodge 252 F&AM, the Ismailia Temple of Buffalo, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Buffalo, and was a former member of the St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Olean. For more than 25 years he owned and operated the Spencer Mobile Homes on East State Road, retiring in 1973.

Harold Lewis SPENCER and Pauline HANNIGAN were married on 16 Dec 1933 in Olean, Cattaraugus Co., NY. Pauline HANNIGAN was born on 13 Apr 1914 in Olean, Cattaraugus Co., NY. She died on 26 Sep 2002 in Olean, Cattaraugus Co., NY. Married Harold and had 3 sons, Harold Jr., Daniel and Donald (twins). Danny died 1991, Olean and Donald died in 2001.

She passed away after 2 strokes and ultimately starvation.

Mrs Spencer was a businesswoman in the area for more than 60 years having owned the Red and White grocery store, Spencer's Dairy Bar and Spencer's Trailer Sales and Service.
She operated Spencer's Trailer Sales and Service for more than 40 years before retiring. They founded the business in 1947 on East State Road at the city line, the site of the old carnival grounds. The business grew with the war era as homes for GIs and college students were in demand. The flood of 1972 hurt the business. Spencer's Trailer Sales and Service closed in December of 1975.
Mrs Spencer was a member of the Olean Senior Center and love the outdoors, gardening and bowling.
She is survived by a son Harold (Linda) Spencer Jr., of Olean: two grandchildren, Michael L. (Pamela) Spencer and Dawn Spencer, both of Olean; and great-grandsons Corey Daniel and Derrick Michael Spencer, both of Olean.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Donald L. Spencer and Daniel H. Spencer; brothers, Jack and Richard Hannigan, sisters Marie Hartwell, Jeek Stevens, Jane Hannigan, and Dot Stahley.
There will be no public visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service Monday
(Sept 30, 2002)at 1 p.m., at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean. The Rev. Ronald Reichman will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Homecare and Hospice or to the Olean Senior Center. Harold Lewis SPENCER and Pauline HANNIGAN had the following children:
