| Notes for James Pendleton Taylor |
| The following list of descendent of James Pendleton Taylor, a son of Alfred Taylor, son of Joseph Taylor, Sr., all of whom were Baptist preachers. The information is from the writings of Edith Lillian Bennett, and of Wendell Holmes, Sr., both Alfred Taylor descendants. Edith is also the half sibling of Wendell. Edith L. Bennett and Leonora Lindley were the co-authors of Spider Webs, A Steamer-Trunk, and Slavery, Kentucky Typewriter Corporation, Owensboro, KY. 1964. Wendell Holmes, Sr. is the author of a number of books. The Taylor family information I have used are from his notes on the Biography of Elder Alfred Taylor in his reprinting of W. C. Taylor's story of his father's life. Mr. Holmes also wrote the History of the Green River Missionary Baptist Church, from which biographies have been published on the internet as part of the Kentucky Biography Project. |
