From the book ' Biography of Elder Alfred Taylor' written and compiled by his son William Carey Taylor Sr. in 1878, and revised and reprinted by his great grandson Wendell Holmes Rone Sr. in 1983. State Land Grants in the period 1728-1800 were at hand, as were copies of the wills of the father and the grandfather of Moses Taylor, Sr. It was also established that both these ancestors had come from MD to NC. Research in the Hall of Records at Annapolis and in the MD Historical Society Library at Baltimore confirmed this; and also revealed that the great-grandfather of Moses Taylor Sr was Abraham Taylor, Sr (ca.1661-1719). From the above information, it was determined that Robert Taylor, the son of Abraham Jr. and Dinah White, was the father of Moses Taylor, Sr.
