She is the d/o George Wiseheart and Mary Lemaster.My records show a date of birth as Dec. 28,1850.These records also show William's middle name as Ervin rather than Elvin.Here is the line I show from Moses. To Bee or to Bea; that is the question. The early spelling appear to have been Beesley for those coming from North Carolina. About 1810 a family moved into Butler County, KY from Virginia who spelled it Beasley. Many descendants of both families still live in KY and Beasley is now the dominant spelling. A review of telephone directories for nine west central KY counties shows only two listing as Beesley and over 100 as Beasley. I have Mary Catherine Beesley (Dec 1850 - Feb 1897) d/o William Elvin Beesley and Martha A. Lamaster. I do not have ancestors for William Elvin. I also have a Mary Beesley (b abt 1851) d/o John William Beesley, s/o John T. Beesley, s/o William Beesley and Elizabeth Taylor. Beasley and Mary "Polly" Burden. John T. Beasley was the son of William Beasley and Elizabeth Prevatte Taylor. This is my husband's line as well... Strange thing with this line is that John T. Beasley and Mary "Polly" Burden were parents of William Ervin Beasley, father of Mary Catherine who married Joseph Taylor. John T. Beasley and Sina Daugherty were parents of Dorcas Beasley who married Calvin Prevatte Taylor. Joseph, of course, was Calvin Prevatte Taylor's son. Dorcas Beasley was the 2nd cousin to her husband, Calvin Prevatte Taylor. Strange world isn't it??? 10 |
