"Walter MEEKS obtained 50 acres from John MEEKS, Sr. in 1764. Heappears in the Pitt deeds a s late as 1781, but died before 1789, and Isuspect his widow was Lurana MEEKS, listed on th e 1790 Census asUranah. She appears in Pitt deeds of 1784-1791. Two of Walter's sonsdied wi thout issue, and a series of Pitt deeds (M:166, 167, O:294,P:348-350) enable us to identify W alter's children."
