Francis Marion Meeks (or F. M.) apparently was born on 12 October, 1843. According to the 185 0 U. S. Census, however, he wuld have been born in 1842. It appears that he married by A. L . Weir to Amanda Elizabeth Wiley on 15 November 1866. It also appears that he was married a second time to Mrs. Amanda Price on December 11, 1877.Marion and his family is listed in the 18 70 U. S. Census in Terre NoirTownship, Clark County, Arkansas. He is not listed in the 1890 tax records census of Clark County (Newberry 1988). On a post card (dated6/25/09) addresse d to Mrs. Z. T. Meeks in Waldo, Arkansas, R. E. L.notes that he has received a letter from F . M. Meeks who is living inNew Boston, Texas Very little information has been found concerning F. M. Meeks.
