Martha E. Walker was found dead in bed in Lake City, Florida. Her father was from Alabama an d her mother fromGeorgia. Mr.Green had a cow that got into Martha's corn. The cow ate the co rn and Mr. Green was notified to keep his cow home because she was going to plant the secon d time. He didn't keep the cow home and the cow got into Martha's second patch of corn, ate h er fill and laid down chewing her cud. Martha got the shotgun, shot the cow in the stomach an d told Benjamin to go tell Mr. Green to come and get his cow.
