Obituary of John Rosso Sr. "He came to America from Macklenburg, Germany, where he was born June 9 1827. He arrived in this country in 1852 after a stormy voyage of 11 weeks and three days in a sailing vessel, his father dying while amid ocean and being buried in the sea."

Mt. Clemens Monitor Sept 3, 1909:
John Rosso, a venerable and respected citizen of Macomb county, died at the residence of his son, Joseph, Tueday night aged 82 years. Mr. Rosso was seriously sick a few months ago, but recovdred and was enjoying his usual health unitl a few days before death. The funer ocurs this afternoon. Rev. Mr. Engelder, of the Lutheran church officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Clemens Cemetery.
Mr. Rosso was one of the pioneers of Macomb county. He came to America from Macklenburg, Germany, where he was born June 9, 1827. He arrived in this county in 1852 after a stormy voyage of 11 weeks and three days in a sailing vessel, his father dying while amid ocean and being buried in the sea. He settled in Buffalo, coming to Macomb County a eyar later. He has lived in this county until three years ago when he went to live with his daughter in Detroit, Mrs. Asa Fuller. In the old county Mr. Rosso followed the occupation of brick maker, but in his adopted ocunty he was always a farmer. In his latter years owning his own farm. ......
Mr. Ross leaves behind to mourn his loss an aged wife and six children, five sons, John, Louis F. William, Albert, and Josephiine; and one daughter Emma, now Mrs. Asa Fuller.......

Mrs. Rachael Rosso, aged 95 years , widow of the alte John Rosso who died 16years ago, passed away at 9:20 last evening at the home of her son, Joseph, 98 Miller Street.....she came form Germany in 1855and had reside in this vicinity for the alst 16 years....survived by 5 sons, John, Louis, William P, Joseph of Mt. Clemsn, Albert Rosso of Birmingham, Mich and 25 grandchidrena dn 26 great grandchilden.
