Mare died this morn of the oats. Colt alive. This day twelve months left the roof of my Father & Mother. Surely goodness and mercy have followed us hitherto. May the Lord comfort my parents. (No frost)

Had a severe attack of fever at noon. Felt bad the whole eve.
