Jasper Golden was born in Ireland in 1823

Jasper Golden was born in Ireland in 1823. He arrived in Kingsville in 1850 and was involved in the community in many ways. He was a teacher, a school trustee, police magistrate, assessor and returning office in federal elections. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 58 years and acted as secretary for 7 years and Chaplin for 10 years.

Jasper married Christeen Malott in 1857. They had 6 children.

He purchased the property from Malott when he married Christeen. I believe I read he paid $1.00 for it but I will have to research this again.

He built a stone house on this property, which is still in the family.

Jasper Golden died on March 27. 1916 in his 94th year, one of the oldest, best loved and most honourable citizens of Kingsville and Gosfield South.
