He was a witness to the marriage of Record Hussey and Miriam Harrey at Warrington June 9, 1756. It is believed that he removed with his parents to Orange County, North Carolina in 1759.
When the Hussey family arrived in Orange County some 20 young people of the Quaker church gathered to welcome the newcomers, according to "A Branch of the Hussey Family in America" by Roland Fountain Hussey and Grace Griffin Hubbell. In the group of welcomers was 13-year-old Martha Chamness who remarked when she saw 20-year-old Stephen Hussey, "I intend to have this young man for my husband." And she did, three years later, September 3, 1762.
Martha Chamness was the daughter of Anthony Chamness and Sarah Cole Chamness, according to records of Cane Creek Monthly Meeting. She was born 11th, 11th month, 1746 in Frederick County, Maryland. Anthony Chamness was born in "Est. Smithfield, London, England" to John Chamness and Ann Chamness. Sarah Cole Chamness was born 1st, 5th month, 1718 in Baltimore, Maryland, according to Cane Creek records.
Anthony Chamness was kidnapped in London when he was a small boy just old enough to remember his name, brought to America and "bound out" until he was of age, according to "A Branch of the Hussey Family in America." There was an estate left to him in England, but his wife would not consent for him to cross the ocean again, and the estate was left unsettled, according to the volume.
He and Sarah Cole, daughter of Joseph Cole and Sushannah Cole of Baltimore, were married about 1736 in Baltimore. Anthony Chamness wrote his will November 24, 1775 in Chatham County, North Carolina and in it mentioned "daughter, Martha Hussey." Anthony Chamness died September 20, 1777, at age 64, and was buried at Cane Creek Monthly Meetinghouse.

Ann Chamness, twin daughter of Anthony Chamness and Sarah Cole Chamness, was born November 11, 1756. She was married about 1776 to Jesse Comer, son of Robert Comer and Rebecca Gregg Houghton Comer.
Stephen Hussey was named along with his father to a group ordered to layout a road in Orange County in August 1764, according to Orange County Court records.
He was a witness to the will of Thomas Cox which was probated in November 1771, according to "Guilford County, North Carolina Will Abstracts." He was mentioned in a deed dated July 20, 1774 when Solomon Cox and Naomi "Amy" Hussey Cox, his sister conveyed land that adjoined his, according to "Guilford County Deed Book 1", page 340.
He was cited for "patriotic service and rendering material aid" in North Carolina during the Revolutionary War in "DAR Patriot Index." He was paid 186 pounds for his services [or goods] by the North Carolina Continental Line, according to "State Records of North Carolina."

It is believed that Stephen Hussey and Martha Chamness Hussey followed Solomon Cox and Naomi "Amy" Hussey Cox in a move to Virginia about 1782. In Kegley's "Militia of Montgomery County, Virginia, 1777-1790" the name of "Stephen Hussey" appeared.
In 1806 they moved in covered wagons, along with son Joshua Hussey through Tennessee and Kentucky, crossing the Ohio River at Maysville, Kentucky, to Ohio in a six-week journey, according to "History of Highland County, Ohio." On July 1, 1809 Stephen Hussey and Martha Chamness Hussey received a certificate from Cane Creek Monthly Meeting to remove to Fairfield Monthly Meeting in Highland County, Ohio. He appeared in the 1810 tax list of Highland County, living in Liberty Township near Hillsborough, Ohio. Later he lived near New Vienna, Ohio.
Stephen Hussey wrote his will June 29, 1811. He named "wife, Martha; daughters Elizabeth Cox, Sarah Cox and Martha Underwood and sons Christopher, Stephen, Joshua and William." He mentioned "money due me in Carolina" and named Christopher Hussey and Joshua Hussey as executors. James Hadley and Anne Hadley were witnesses to the will which was proven in court in an undated session. Bond was given by the executors April 7, 1812.
Stephen Hussey died March 9, 1812 and was "buried at East Fork," according to records of Clear Creek Monthly Meeting. Martha Chamness Hussey died at East Fork, Ohio December 9, 1830.

Elizabeth Hussey, daughter of Stephen Hussey and Martha Chamness Hussey, was born January 30, 1765 in Orange County, North Carolina. She was married November 22, 1781 to Thomas Cox, as his second wife, according to records of Cane Creek Monthly Meeting. He was the son of Thomas Cox and Martha Cox of Holly Springs Monthly Meeting, Randolph County, North Carolina. Thomas Cox, a miller, was born in 1750 and died at the age of 103 in 1853, according to "DAR Patriot Index" in which he was cited as a private who served in the North Carolina Continental Line during the Revolutionary War. Elizabeth Hussey Cox was mentioned in her father's will dated June 29, 1811. She died in 1846. Children born to them are unknown.
Sarah Hussey, daughter of Stephen Hussey and Martha Chamness Hussey, was born June 14, 1768 in Orange County. She was married February 21, 1788 to Thomas Cox, Jr., a cousin of Thomas Cox who married her sister, Elizabeth Hussey, in Randolph County, according to records of Cane Creek Monthly Meeting. Sarah Hussey Cox was mentioned in the will of her father dated June 29, 1811. Children born to them are unknown.
Christopher Hussey, son of Stephen Hussey and Martha Chamness Hussey, was born in Orange County November 19, 1770, according to DAR Application No. 472275. He was married about 1792 to Sarah Barker in Randolph County, according to Oleta Mae Carey Keen. Ohio was admitted to the union in 1802 as a "free" state, and the Quakers who were having difficulty with the slavery problem in North Carolina generally moved there as they were able to dispose of their property. In 1805 Christopher Hussey moved his family to Ross County, Ohio. He was followed by his parents in 1806.
Christopher Hussey joined his brother Stephen Hussey in a move to Highland County, Ohio in September 1805. Christopher Hussey "of Ross County" bought 350 acres in Highland County January 26, 1807, according to Highland County Deed Book 1, page 52. His brother Stephen Hussey bought 300 acres there on the following day. On February 22, 1807 Christopher Hussey joined Joshua Kenworthy to sell 93 acres to Isaac Kenworthy, according to Highland County Deed Book 2, page 312.
A request was received by Fairfield Monthly Meeting in Highland County March 26, 1808 from Sarah Barker Hussey on behalf of her children and herself. The children were listed as "Sarah, Stephen, Mary, Priscilla, William and John," in the church records. Sarah Barker Hussey was received by Fairfield Monthly Meeting on a certificate from Cane Creek Monthly Meeting dated November 5, 1808. Christopher Hussey was received into fellowship April 29, 1809 on a certificate from Clear Creek Monthly Meeting dated September 3, 1808.
Christopher Hussey was named co-executor of his father's will written June 11, 1811 and made bond April 7, 1812. Sarah Barker Hussey died April 14, 1814 and was buried at Clear Creek Cemetery.
Christopher Hussey was living with his widowed mother in 1815 in Highland County. He was remarried June 29, 1815 to Mrs. Rachel R. Jackson Graham, daughter of Jacob Jackson and Ann Jackson of Clinton County, according to records of Clear Creek Monthly Meeting.
Although he was lame due to a childhood injury to his ankle which left one leg shorter than the other and required his use of a cane, he made his living as a farmer and a blacksmith. On May 13, 1818 he purchased 302 acres of land in Highland County, according to Highland County Deed Book 5, page 110. On February 15, 1819 Christopher Hussey and Rachel R. Jackson Graham Hussey sold 50 acres to "Isaac Kinworth", according to Highland County Deed Book 1, page 520. [This individual was probably Isaac Kenworthy who had bought land from him some 12 years earlier.] He sold 125 acres to Samuel Carey December 8, 1828, according to Highland County Deed Book 5, page 452. He sold 125 acres March 16, 1829 to "William Hussey" [believed to be his brother], according to Highland County Deed Book 5, page 484. On September 16, 1831 he purchased an additional 50 acres, according to Highland County Deed Book 11, page 191.
He was enumerated as the head of a household in the 1840 census of Highland County, Liberty township, page 121.
On November 4, 1841 Christopher Hussey and Rachel R. Jackson Graham Hussey deeded 116 acres in Liberty township to their son Christopher Hussey, Jr., according to Highland County Deed Book 9, page 260.
On December 18, 1843 Christopher Hussey bought 10 acres of land, according to Highland County Deed Book 10, page 626. He and his wife sold the acreage to Joseph Wright February 23, 1849, as recorded in the county's Deed Book 16, page 18.
Christopher Hussey was given a certificate to Miami Monthly Meeting, Warren County, Ohio December 12, 1846 by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting. He was received by Miami Monthly Meeting February 24, 1847. He was given a certificate back to Clear Creek Monthly Meeting September 22, 1847 and was received there November 13, 1847. He was disowned by the congregation for "disunity" July 8, 1848.
It is believed that Rachel R. Jackson Graham Hussey died in 1849 and that Christopher Hussey joined his son Christopher Hussey in a move to Henry County, Iowa in that year. "Christopher Hussey, Sr." was recorded in the federal census of 1850 of Henry County, page 267. He, living alone, was recorded adjacent to his son as Household No. 1576-1576 as "Christopher Hussey, Sr, 81, born in North Carolina, farmer." He died January 1851 at the home of his son in Lee County, Iowa.

Stephen Hussey, son of Christopher Hussey and Sarah Barker Hussey, was born August 16, 1793 probably in Orange County, North Carolina, according to family records. His tombstone shows him to be born in 1796. He was mentioned in a request made by his mother recorded in the minutes of Fairfield Monthly Meeting March 26, 1808.
He was married October 24, 1816 in Highland County to Katharine Williams, daughter of William Williams and Phebe Williams of Highland County. William Williams mentioned his daughter in his will dated March 24, 1842.
Katherine Williams Hussey died July 31, 1847 "at age 49 years, 26 days" and was buried in High Top Quaker Cemetery. Stephen Hussey was remarried shortly afterwards, wife's name Susan. Stephen Hussey died July 18, 1850 "at age 54 years, 11 months, 13 days," according to his tombstone in High Top Quaker Cemetery. Susan Hussey was remarried shortly afterwards to Aaron Ensley.
On March 27, 1851 William Scott filed suit against John W. Timberlake et al, filing a petition to set aside deed for fraud, according to Highland County Chancery Record Book 1, page 652. The petition read: "Plaintiff alleges that he is a creditor of John W. Timberlake, and that Timberlake, to defraud him, had Henry Turner execute a deed to 4 acres on the waters of Clear Creek, in which Timberlake had an equitable interest, to Stephen Carey and Stephen Hussey. Stephen Hussey died intestate, leaving his widow, Susan, who had since married Aaron Ensley, and the following heirs: Sarah, William, Christopher, Cyrus, Elizabeth Ann, and Phebe W. Hussey, the last five being minors, and Joshua Hussey, a minor, the only child of Joshua Hussey, dec'd, who was son of Joshua [Stephen] Hussey dec'd, all of Highland County."

Joshua Hussey, son of Stephen Hussey and Katharine Williams Hussey, was born May 20, 1818 in Highland County. It is believed that he was married about 1839, wife's name Eliza. Joshua Hussey appeared as the head of a household in the 1840 census of Highland County, Fairfied township, page 4.
In 1843 Joshua Hussey was appointed guardian of "the Brown children," according to Highland County court records. "Joshua Hussey, Jr," was disowned January 10, 1846 by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting for "joining another society."
Joshua Hussey died about 1847. Eliza Hussey, "widow of Joshua Hussey," was deceased by February 20, 1867, according to Highland County court records.

Joshua W. Hussey, son of Joshua Hussey and Eliza Hussey, was born about October 1846 in Highland County. On March 17, 1848 Susan Hussey was appointed his guardian, and Stephen Hussey was appointed surety. Joshua W. Hussey is referred to in the legal records of Highland County in 1851 and 1855 as being a resident of Indiana.
"Joshua Hussey" served as a first lieutenant in the Forty-Eighth Ohio Infantry Regiment, according to the research of Rita Marie Ring. This individual was married, probably after the Civil War, wife's name Eliza. He, an invalid, applied to the state of Ohio for a pension September 16, 1887. Children born to Joshua W. Hussey and Eliza Hussey are unknown.
Sarah Hussey, daughter of Stephen Hussey and Katharine Williams Hussey, was born June 26, 1820 in Highland County. She was married about 1841, husband's name Smith. Sarah Hussey Smith was disowned for "marrying contary to discipline" by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting July 20, 1841. If she were the individual who was married in 1841, then the marriage may have been annulled because she had resumed her maiden name by 1851.
On January 28, 1851 Sarah Hussey filed suit against her brothers and sisters to have their inherited land partitioned. The complaint, recorded in Highland County Chancery Book 1, page 410, reads: "Plaintiff alleges that she is the daughter of Stephen Hussey, dec'd, who died seized of 120 acres on the waters of Clear Creek in John Graham's Surveys Nos. 1486 and 2556. The defendants, William and Christopher Hussey of Illinois; Phebe Hussey of Clinton County, Ohio; and Joshua Hussey, son of Joshua Hussey deceased, son of Stephen Hussey, deceased of Indiana, are co-parceners with plaintiff. Elizabeth, Cyrus, Phebe W. and Joshua Hussey are minors."
William Hussey, son of Stephen Hussey and Katharine Williams Hussey, was born November 22, 1822 in Highland County. He was described as being a resident of Illinois in 1851 in the legal records of Highland County.
Christopher Hussey, son of Stephen Hussey, and Katharine Williams Hussey, was born December 21, 1824 in Highland County. He was mentioned in the county's Chancery records as being "in Illinois" in 1851.
Robert W. Hussey, son of Stephen Hussey and Katharine Williams Hussey, was born February 13, 1827 in Highland County. A Robert Hussey died April 14, 1844 and was buried at Clear Creek Quaker Cemetery in Clinton County.
Joseph Hussey, son of Stephen Hussey and Katharine Williams Hussey, was born in Highland County August 8, 1829. He died May 4, 1841 and was buried at Clear Creek Monthly Meetinghouse.

Elizabeth Ann Hussey, daughter of Stephen Hussey and Katharine Williams Hussey, was born March 23, 1836, probably in Highland County. She was mentioned in the legal records of Highland County in 1851 and in 1855. In 1855 she lived in adjoining Ross County, Ohio.
Cyrus Hussey, son of Stephen Hussey and Katharine Williams Hussey, was born November 4, 1838, according to records of Clear Creek Monthly Meeting. He was mentioned in the court records of Highland County in 1850 when Havilah B. Hickson was appointed his guardian. He continued to live there in 1851. He was married to Rebecca A. Hodson December 24, 1859, according to Highland County marriage records. He was disowned by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting August 11, 1860 "for marrying contrary to discipline and joining the Methodist Episcopal Church." It is suggested by the research of Rita Marie Ring that Cyrus Hussey was remarried about 1877, wife's name, Frances Elizabeth.

In 1855 she was described as a resident of Clinton County. She was married about 1857, probably in Clinton County, husband's name Tyson. Phebe W. Hussey Tyson was disowned by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting June 13, 1857 "for marrying contrary to discipline," according to the church records.
Sarah Hussey, daughter of Christopher Hussey and Sarah Barker Hussey, was born February 17, 1795, probably in Orange County, North Carolina. She was mentioned in a request submitted to Fairfield Monthly Meeting, Highland County, Ohio by her mother March 26, 1808. She was married April 9, 1809 [at the age of 14?] to Isaac Williams in Highland County, according to the records of Fairfield Monthly Meeting. They removed to Indiana.
Mary Hussey, daughter of Christopher Hussey and Sarah Barker Hussey, was born March 13, 1797, probably in Orange County, North Carolina. She was mentioned in a request addressed to Fairfield Monthly, Highland County, Ohio by her mother March 26, 1808. She was married to Daniel Bond December 16, 1819, according to records of Clear Creek Monthly Meeting in Clinton County, Ohio. Children born to them include Eunice Bond Nugent of Dayton, Ohio.
Priscilla Hussey, daughter of Christopher Hussey and Sarah Barker Hussey, was born September 3, 1800, probably in Orange County, North Carolina. She was mentioned in a request from her mother to Fairfield Monthly Meeting, Highland County, Ohio March 26, 1808. She was married to Daniel Lewis September 15, 1825, according to records of Clear Creek Monthly Meeting, Clinton County, Ohio. He died November 28, 1847, and she was remarried to Amos Underwood, according to the research of Rita Marie Ring. She died in May 1855, according to "History of Highland County, Ohio." Eight children were born to the first marriage.
William Hussey, son of Christopher Hussey and Sarah Barker Hussey, was born February 28, 1802 near Raleigh, North Carolina. He was brought by his parents to Highland County at the age of three. He was mentioned in a request submitted March 28, 1808 by his mother to Fairfield Monthly Meeting. Highland County, Ohio.
He was granted a certificate to Caesar's Creek Monthly Meeting May 17, 1826 by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting to marry Jane Edwards, daughter of William Edwards and Jimimah Edwards, according to records of the congregation. She was born in 1807 in Cincinnati, Ohio, according to Mrs. Florence Whitlock Williams, a descendant of New Mexico.
An account of the wedding has survived in the form of a transcript made by William Joseph Hussey, a grandson, from the original document kept by his father, John Milton Hussey and was published in "A Branch of the Hussey Family in America". The document reads:
"Whereas William Hussey of the county of Hiland, and the state of Ohio, son of Christopher Hussey and Sarah his wife desd. and Jane Edwards, daughter of William Edwards and Jimimah, his wife of the county of Clinton of the aforesaid state, having declared their intension of marriage with each other, before the monthly meeting of Friends held at Caesar's Creek in the county of Warren, according to the good order used among them and having consent of parents, their said proposal was allowed by said meeting.
Now these are to certify to whom it may concern that for the full accomplishment of their said intensions this first day of the sixth month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six, they the said William Hussey and Jane Edwards by the hand did openly declare that he took her the said Jane Edwards to be his wife, promising with divine assistance to be unto her a loving and faithful husband until death should separate them. And in the same assembly the said Jane Edwards, in like manner declared that she took him the said William Hussey to be her husband, promising with divine assistance to be unto him a loving and faithful wife until death should separate them. And moreover they the said William Hussey and Jane Edwards did as further confirmation thereof (she assuming the name of her husband according to the custom of marriage) then and there to these presents set their hand.

Jane Edwards Hussey was received by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting January 13, 1827 on a certificate from Caesar's Creek Monthly Meeting dated September 26, 1826.
William Hussey, possibly, was a witness to the will of Caleb Lamb dated October 29, 1832, according to Highland County will records. He was disowned July 21, 1835 for "disunity" by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting, and Jane Edwards Hussey was disowned on the same charge March 12, 1831. In 1839 he sold his land in Highland County and moved to Mercer County, Ohio. Jane Edwards Hussey and eight named children were given a certificate to Union Monthly Meeting [probably in Mercer County] February 12, 1848 by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting.
William Hussey died April 23, 1865 from blood poisoning, and Jane Edwards Hussey made her home with Jane Marie Hussey Robbins, her daughter, on an adjoining farmstead. She died September 2, 1890, according to "DAR New Mexico Lineage Book."

In 1851, 1852 and 1853 he was a school teacher in Mercer County. He received a 120-acre farm from his father in 1852 near Mendon, Ohio. In that year he met Mary Catherine Severns, and they were married two years later. She was born December 18, 1835.

Arthur Worley Hussey, son of John Milton Hussey and Mary Catherine Severns Hussey, was born June 18, 1854. He attended Lebanon Normal School, Lebanon, Ohio and Valparaiso University, Indiana. He became a teacher in Ohio, Illinois in September 1879, and there he met Mary Lilliam "Lilla" Sawyer whom he married. She was the daughter of Anthony Sawyer and Mary Warbington Sawyer.
Later he taught in Tiskilwa, Warsaw and Genesco, Illinois and in southern California. After the death of his father-in-law he returned to the Sawyer homestead near Princeton, Illinois to assist his brother-in-law John Sawyer manage the large farm.
At the age of 70 he had a leg amputated following an infection that began with a neglected blister on his foot. After the death of his wife he lived alone. William Joseph Hussey, son of John Milton Hussey and Mary Catherine Severns Hussey, was born August 10, 1862 on a farm near Mendon, Ohio, according to "Dictionary of American Biography" by Dumas Malone. A biographical sketch from the volume reads:
"William Joseph Hussey, astronomer, was born on a farm in Mendon, Ohio August 10, 1862. He was the son of John Milton and Mary Catherine Severns Hussey. Funds could not be spared from the proceeds of the farm for a college education, but he taught school and ran a printing press, and finally entered the University of Michigan in 1882. By the end of his sophomore year his savings were all used up and he took a position with a party of railroad surveyors. Reentering college, he graduated in 1889 in Civil Engineering, and after a part of a year with the U. S. Naval Observatory in Washington, returned to Michigan as an instuctor.
Later he moved to Stanford Junior University as assistant professor of astronomy and was soon promoted to a full professorship. While at Stanford he was often a volunteer assistant at the Lick Observatory, and in 1896 he accepted a position as astronomer there.
Hussey received the Lalande Medal of the Paris Academy of Sciencies
in 1906. He was a foreign associate of the Royal Astronomical Society
and member of several other societies. He was president of the Astronomical
Society of the Pacific in 1897 and secretary of the American Astronomical
Society from 1908 to 1912. In 1911 Hussey was offered the directorship
of the observatory at La Plata, in the Argentine Republic. Arrangements
were soon made whereby he should divide his time between the observatories
at La Plata and at Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 1926, while in London,
accompanied by Mrs. Hussey, he died."
He was married in June 1895 to Ethel Fountain, daughter of Major Orlando Fountain and Jennie Shepperd Fountain whom he had met on the University of Michigan campus. She was born at Sebetha, Kansas where her father was a merchant following his tenure with Illinois troups during the Civil War.
Ethel Fountain Hussey died at Ann Arbor in September 1915, and William Joseph Hussey was remarried in 1917 to Mary McNeil Reed, widow of John Oren Reed, faculty member at University of Michigan. No children were born to William Joseph Hussey and Mary McNeil Reed Hussey.

Until 1926 he was an instructor in biology at New York University and then spent three years in Paraguay.
He was remarried in 1930 at Ann Arbor to Rosine Peyser, daughter of Harold Peyser and Rosine Berge Peyser of Port Washington, New York. From 1933 until 1947 he as associated with hospitals in New York City. The second marriage lasted until 1944.
From 1947 to 1953 he taught at Florida Southern College and for the next 10 years at University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida where he was a professor of biological sciences.
Roland Fountain Hussey was remarried June 16, 1946 to Karlene Elizabeth Cozart, daughter of William D. Cozart and Mary Frances Buchanan Cozart of Nashville, Tennessee. She, an attorney in Gainesville, was a graduate of University of Florida. No children were born to Roland Fountain Hussey and Karlene Elizabeth Cozart Hussey.

Allis Fountain Hussey, daughter of William Joseph Hussey and Ethel Fountain Hussey, was born December 1, 1898. She was graduated in 1921 from University of Michigan and received an MS degree from there in 1922. She received a second Master's degree in Romance languagues. Later she spent one year at University of Grenoble and another in Paris at the Sorbonne. Later she received a doctorate at University at Columbia University.
She taught at Coleraine Junior College, Coleraine, Minnesota in two tenures through 1943. In that year she joined the W.A.C.S. and was commissioned at Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia. Later she was stationed in Panama, Australia, New Guinea, Biak, Leyte, Japan, Ft. Riley, Kansas and Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. In 1953 she was transferred to Monterey, California where she remained until retired as a major in 1963. Later she continued to make her home there.
Walter Hussey, son of John Milton Hussey and Mary Catherine Severns Hussey, was born June 2, 1865. He died July 23, 1871.
Alice Jenkins "Jennie" Hussey, daughter of John Milton Hussey and Mary Catherine Severns Hussey, was born October 16, 1868 at Mendon, Ohio. She was graduated from the University of Michigan as an accomplished pianist. She was married to Otto J. Rose September 28, 1890. He, the son of Ezekiel Schoolover Rose and Mary Andrews Rose, was born in Allen County, Ohio December 7, 1857. He operated a photographic studio in Lima, Ohio and later was employed by the "Lima Gazette." She died June 20, 1906.
He was appointed postmaster in Lima by William Howard Taft. Following this tenure he was a realtor until his death September 23, 1925.

She enrolled in Stanford University about 1887 while her brother was teaching there and was married about 1888 to George Jerome Griffin who was born February 21, 1870 to Phillip Griffin and Jane Griffin in Bradford, Pennsylvania.
He attended Canisius College in Buffalo, New York and was employed by Standard Oil Company until his retirement in 1932. He died March 15, 1942 at Mendon, Ohio. Lenora "Nora" Hussey Griffin removed to California to make her home with her daughter Jane Griffin Harter. She continued to live there in her 94th year at which time she assisted in the preparation of the manuscript of "A Branch of the Hussey Family in America."

In 1928 he attended University of Michigan for a PhD in zoology, and in the following year they removed to Gainesville, Florida In 1928 he attended University of Michigan for a PhD in zoology, and in the following year they removed to Gainesville, Florida e became director of the Museum of Zoology uhere.
She did extensive research on the history of the Hussey family and collaborated in the production of "A Branch of the Hussey Family in America" published in 1964.

She was married about 1929 to Raymond W. Harter. They live in Ohio several years and then removed to Long Beach, California where he was employed in a wholesale electronics firm. She died November 30, 1951 and Raymond W. Harter was remarried to Jean Mulford, a widow.
Martha Ann Hussey, twin daughter of William Hussey and Jane Edwards Hussey, was born July 25, 1829, probably in Clinton County, Ohio. She was mentioned in a certificate given to her mother February 12, 1848 by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting to transfer the family's membership to Union Monthly Meeting [probably in Mercer County, Ohio.
She was married November 7, 1850 to John Upton, son of Edward Upton and Emma Murlin Upton who had moved to Mercer County from Kentucky in 1834. He was born in 1824. They settled on a farm which adjoined her old home which was being operated by her twin, John Milton Hussey. John Upton died in 1888, and Martha Ann Hussey Upton died in 1921.

Alfred Lee Hussey, son of William Hussey and Jane Edwards Hussey, was born September 27, 1837 in Mendon. He was mentioned in a certificate issued by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting to his mouher and her children dated February 12, 1848 providing for a transfer of their membership to Union Monthly Meeting. He was an adventurer and left home at an early age. He enlisted in the Union Army in September 1862 with his brother-in-law Philo Sperry Nottingham and was wounded about the time that Nottingham was killed.
He was a blacksmith and returning home once after an absence of seven years he worked in his grandfather's blacksmith shop. After the Civil War he was married about 1865 to Martha J. Miller, believed to be a sister to Simon Miller. He died in 1905, and she died in 1912.

Christopher Hussey, twin son of Christopher Hussey and Rachel R. Jackson Graham Hussey, was born July 26, 1816, according to records of Clear Creek Monthly Meeting. He was married December 24, 1835 to Rachel Moberly, according to Highland County marriage records. He was disowned November 22, 1836 for "marrying contrary to discipline" by Clear Creek Monthly Meeting. He purchased from his parents November 4, 1841 116 acres in Liberty township, according to Highland County Deed Book 9, page 260.
Christopher Hussey and Rachel Moberly Hussey removed about 1849 to Iowa with his father, settling near New London, Iowa. He was enumerated as the head of a household in the 1850 census of Henry County, Iowa, page 267. The household, No. 1575-1575, was listed in an adjoining entry with that of Christopher Hussey. "I have a Christopher who was born about 1846 in Ohio. He was married about 1868 to Mary Bennett. Their children include: Susie Hussey, born about 1869, Ohio and Ethel May Hussey, born about 1877, Ohio. Living with them in Marion township, Clinton County, was his brother-in-law, Jessey Bennett, born in 1833, Ohio."

Graham Hussey, was born July 26, 1816 in Clinton County, Ohio, according
to records of Clear Creek Monthly Meeting. She was married November
10, 1836 to Frederick Moberly, half brother to Rachel Moberly Hussey. He
was born in Liberty Township in 1812 and died in 1875, according to "History
of Highland County, Ohio" written by Rev. J. W. Klise and published by
Cook McDowell Publications, Owensboro, Kentucky. She died in
1873 at age 57. Eight children were born to them.
