Isom J. Cox, son of Joseph Cox and Ama "Amy" Baker Cox, was born October 7, 1815 in Ross County, Ohio.  He was married to Elvira Weber, a native of Ohio, November 6, 1842 in Livingston County, Missouri.  She died in 1846.  He was remarried in 1849 to Elizabeth D. Littlepage, a native of Alleghany County, Virginia.

He was enumerated in the 1850 census of Livingston County as the head of Household 96-96 listed as:

 "Cox, Isom 36, born in Ohio
 Elis D.  25, born in Virginia
 Harriett E. 4,  born in Missouri"

She died September 15, 1899, and he died January 4, 1909.  They were buried in Macedonia Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.

Sterling Price Cox, twin son of Isom J. Cox and Elizabeth D. Littlepage Cox, was born November 17, 1861 and named after the popular Confederate general.  He was married March 20, 1899 to Maud Viola Knaus in Chillicothe, Missouri.  He died November 17, 1943, and she died April 13, 1975 at age 98.

Abel Cox, son of Joseph Cox and Ama "Amy" Baker Cox, was born March 19, 1818 in Ross County, Ohio.  He was brought to Missouri by his parents. He was married March 9, 1843 to Sarah M. Caldwell who was born July 7, 1823 in Ohio.  He died February 25, 1904 and was buried in Anderson Cemetery in Chillicothe.  She died March 13, 1909.

Zeamri Cox, son of Joseph Cox and Ama "Amy" Baker Cox, was born October 30, 1820.  Of this individual nothing more is known.

Malinda Cox, daughter of Joseph Cox and Ama "Amy" Baker Cox, was born October 10, 1822 in Ray County, Missouri, according to "Joseph Cox, Ancestors and Descendants."  She was married December 17, 1846 in Livingston County to Isaac Shriver who was born August 20, 1824 in Ohio.  He was a son of George Shriver and Catherine Shriver who were born in Pennsylvania.

They accompanied her father and brothers in a move to Bell County, Texas in 1851.  She died there February 12, 1894 and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  He was also buried there.

Hiram Washington Cox, son of Joseph Cox and Ama "Amy" Baker Cox, was born January 26, 1824.  He was married February 11, 1849 in Hopkins County, Texas to Nancy Allard, who was born August 14, 1836, according to "Joseph Cox, Ancestors and Descendants."  She, the daughter of Aaron Hardin Allard and Polly Weaver Allard, was born in northern Missouri.

They moved to Erath County, Texas in 1856 when the county was organized.  In 1874 they moved to San Juan County, Territory of New Mexico with 30,000 head of cattle in a trip that took four months.  They lost so many cattle to rustlers during the territorial days that Hiram Washington Cox offered a $10,000 reward for the rustler leader dead or alive.  One of his confederates killed him for the reward according to "Allard Family History."

He died December 16, 1888, and she died January 28, 1900.  Both were buried at Cedar Hill, New Mexico.

Emma Cox, daughter of Hiram Washington Cox and Nancy Allard Cox, was born April 10, 1853.  She died in the same year.

Andrew Cox, son of Hiram Washington Cox and Nancy Allard Cox, was born March 1, 1854.  He died in the same year.

George W. Cox, son of Hiram Washington Cox and Nancy Allard Cox, was born July 4, 1855.  He is believed to have disappeared in early life and his family did not hear from him again, however "Allard Family History" records his death in 1932.

John S. Cox, son of Hiram Washington Cox and Nancy Allard Cox, was born February 8, 1858.  He was married in 1877 to Jennie Campbell.  She died in 1882, and he was remarried about 1890 to Jane Smith who died in 1893.  He died April 9, 1927.

William A. Cox, son of Hiram Washington Cox and Nancy Allard Cox, was born February 25, 1872.  He died August 10, 1890, believed to be a victim of drowning while crossing a river.

 Andrew Baker Cox, son of Joseph Cox and Ama "Amy" Baker Cox, was born July 6, 1828 in Indiana, according to his 1850 census enumeration. He was married April 22, 1847 to Catherine Ann Shriver, daughter of George Shriver and Catherine Shriver and sister to Isaac Shriver who married Malinda Cox.  Catherine Ann Shriver was born in Indiana in 1831.

He appeared as the head of Household No. 95-95 in the 1850 census of Livingston County, Missouri.  The family was listed as:

Andrew Baker Cox died in 1871 at age 43 and was buried in Jones Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.  Catherine Ann Shriver Cox was remarried to Joseph Wolfskill in Chillicothe and removed to California.  She died in Sebastopol, California.

Stanley Medford Cox, son of Ira Beasley Cox and Bessie May Cornelius Cox, was born April 19, 1907 in Livingston County.  He was married November 28, 1935 to Eunice B. Shirkey who was born February 10, 1908.  In 1956 he was assistant treasurer of Cook Paint  Varnish Company in Kansas City.

In 1956 he published "Joseph Cox, Ancestors and Descendants," delineating the lives of his Cox forebears, after many years of painstaking research.  His book resulted in much Cox family genealogical activity and did much to establish the relationship of the Cox families in Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas.

In 1976 they continued to live in Kansas City.  No children were born to Stanley Medford Cox and Eunice B. Shirkey Cox.

Forrest Raymond Cox, son of Ira Beasley Cox and Bessie May Cornelius Cox, was born July 27, 1910 in Livingston County.  He was married March 21, 1931 to Sylvia Hubbard of Kansas City who was born February 13, 1913.  In 1956 they lived in Squaw Lake, Minnesota.  No children were born to Forrest Raymond Cox and Sylvia Hubbard Cox.

John H. Cox, son of Andrew Baker Cox and Catherine Ann Shriver Cox, was born August 12, 1861 in Livingston County.  He was married January 1, 1882 in Chillicothe to his first cousin, once-removed, Elvira Gibbons, daughter of Nathan Gibbons and Harriette Elizabeth Cox Gibbons.  She was killed when struck by lightning near Humansville, Missouri in 1888.

John H. Cox was remarried August 15, 1889 to Cynthia E. Duckworth.  He was later married for the third time about 1901, wife's name unknown.

William Hugh Cox, son of Joseph Cox and Ama "Amy" Baker Cox, was born May 26, 1830 in Ray County, Missouri.  He was mentioned in "History of Livingston County, Missouri" as a son, but he was not mentioned in the probate of his father's estate.  It is believed that he was married about 1849 to Martha A. Walker.

William Cox, possibly, appeared as the head of a Household 97-97 in the 1850 census of Livingston County.  The family was rendered as:

William Cox, possibly, appeared as the head of a household in the 1860 census of Livingston County.  This household was listed in sequence between Isom J. Cox, his brother and Allen Lile, his brother-in-law.  They were enumerated as:

It is believed that William Hugh Cox removed to Caldwell County, Missouri.  Possible grandchildren by the names of Joseph Cox and James Cox were reported there. William Hugh Cox was remarried to Julila Ridinger.  No children were born to Julila Ridinger Cox.  He died in Breckenridge, Missouri and was buried in Trosper Cemetery there.

Malinda C. Cox, daughter of William Hugh Cox and Martha A. Walker Cox, was born in 1859.  She appeared in the 1860 census of her father's household as a one-year-old.  She was married about 1877 to William Samuel "Linn" Goodman.  Twelve children were born to them.

Belle Cox, daughter of William Hugh Cox and Martha A. Walker Cox, was born about 1864.  She was married three times--first husband Hughes; second, Gillgar; third, Wagoner.

Betty Cox, daughter of William Hugh Cox and Martha A. Walker Cox, was born about 1866.  She was married about 1893 to Clair "Beasy" Beemer.

Nica Jane Cox [also referred to as Nancy Jane and Necy Jane], daughter of Joseph Cox and Ama "Amy" Baker Cox, was born July 12, 1834 in Missouri.  She appeared in the 1850 census of her father's household in Livingston County as a 16-year-old.  She was brought to Bell County, Texas in the following year by her parents.  She was married there about 1852 to her second cousin Samuel Hampton Cox, son of Fleming Trigg Cox and Mary Guinevere "Polly" Leigh Cox.  Nica Jane Cox Cox died April 19, 1916, and he died March 3, 1918.  Both were buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bell County.  For their descendants, see page 2556.

Rebecca Cox, daughter of Solomon Cox and Martha Dixon Cox, was born about 1794, probably in Virginia.  She appeared with her parents in 1800 in Jefferson County, Tennessee.  Later the family removed to Knox County, Kentucky and appeared in Ross County, Ohio.  She was married November 22, 1812 to Isaac Dixon.

They accompanied other members of their family in a move to Missouri in 1818, according to "Joseph Cox, Ancestors and Descendants," however it is believed that the family may have arrived later.

Isaac Dixon died in 1830 in Ray County, and his brother-in-law Joseph Cox was appointed guardian of their six children.

Michel Cox, daughter of Solomon Cox and Martha Dixon Cox, was born in 1798, probably in Virginia.  She was taken to Jefferson County, Tennessee by her parents in 1800.  Later they lived in Knox County, Kentucky and in 1808 appeared in Ross County, Ohio.  She was married January 9, 1817 to William Wilkinson, in Ross County.  William Wilkinson, the son of John Wilkinson and Amy Dixon Wilkinson, was born about 1795 in Chatham County, North Carolina.  A William Wilkinson was shown to be a debtor to the estate of her grandfather Solomon Cox in 1820.  They were living in Indiana in 1826, according to the research of Mrs. Vesper Cook and appeared in the 1830 census of Ray County, Missouri.  William Wilkinson was drowned about 1838 while attempted to swim across the Grand River on a dare.

Michel Cox Wilkinson was enumerated in the 1880 census of Bell County, Texas living in the home of her nephew, Solomon Benjamin Cox and is believed to have died there.

Mary Wilkinson, daughter of William Wilkinson and Michel Cox Wilkinson, was born April 5, 1818 in Ohio.  She was married February 19, 1837 in Livingston County, Missouri to William Maberry, son of James Maberry and Nancy Marlin Maberry.  William Maberry was born March 19, 1816 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Pernicia Clementine Maberry, daughter of William Maberry and Mary Wilkinson Maberry, was born in Livingston County August 24, 1838.  She was married August 14, 1856 in Avalon, Missouri to Drury N. Mathis.  She died there January 2, 1898 and was buried in the Maberry Cemetery.

Thomas Benton Maberry, son of William Maberry and Mary Wilkinson Maberry, was born March 19, 1840 in Livingston County.  He was married there March 2, 1860 to Elizabeth Jane Clifton.  He was a soldier in the Civil War.  He died April 15, 1913 in Polk County, Missouri.

Daniel Parker Maberry, son of William Maberry and Mary Wilkinson Maberry, was born April 4, 1842 in Livingston County.  He was shot in the face by an escaping prisoner during the Civil War and was blinded.  He died unmarried October 8, 1895 and was buried in the Maberry Cemetery in Livingston County.

Sarah Jane Maberry, daughter of William Maberry and Mary Wilkinson Maberry, was born April 26, 1844 in Avalon, Missouri.  She was married February 21, 1861 in Livingston County to Drury Nicholas Morris, son of Carter Morris and Cynthia Mathis Morris.  He was born October 5, 1839 in Dickson County, Tennessee.

Drury Nicholas Morris died October 4, 1922 in Forest Grove, Oregon, and she died there September 20, 1935.

Cynthia Mary Frances Morris, daughter of Drury Nicholas Morris and Sara Jane Maberry Morris, was born Janury 8, 1872 in Livingston County.  She was married there December 8, 1880 to William Jacob Good, son of John Anton Good and Barbara Bamberger Good.  He was born August 27, 1857 at Vicksburg, Mississippi.  They moved to Oregon in 1908.

Alta Minida Good, daughter of William Jacob Good and Cynthia Mary Frances Morris Good, was born in Livingston County September 29, 1881.  She was married there July 7, 1902 to Everett James McAlear, son of Charles McAlear and Margaret Stagner McAlear, who was born there July 9, 1878.

Everett James McAlear died November 15, 1953 at Hillsboro, Oregon, and Alta Minida Good McAlear died August 4, 1967 in Los Angeles.  They were buried in Forest Grove, Oregon.

Eldred Lowell McAlear, son of Everett James McAlear and Alta Minida Good McAlear, was born August 23, 1909 in Forest Grove.  He was married December 25, 1934 at Portland, Oregon to Audrey Maybelle Jones, daughter of Grant Jones and Anna Fleming Jones.

Eldred Lowell McAlear died April 15, 1956 in Berkeley, California, and Audrey Maybelle Jones McAlear died in Nice, California.  They were buried in Forest Grove.

Robert Alan McAlear, son of Eldred Lowell McAlear and Audrey Maybelle Jones McAlear, was born June 28, 1938 in Oakland, California.  He was married June 9, 1962 to Debbie Perez in San Pablo, California.  In 1983 they lived in Nice, California where he was a teacher.  He has researched the Hussey and Cox family histories in a very thorough manner and has provided much of the data contained in this manuscript.

Grant Everett McAlear, son of Eldred Lowell McAlear and Audrey Maybelle Jones McAlear, was born October 13, 1943 in Oakland.  He died February 8, 1944 and was buried in Forest Grove.

Vicki Ann McAlear, daughter of Eldred Lowell McAlear and Audrey Maybelle Jones McAlear, was born November 23, 1945 in Oakland.  She was married August 21, 1965 in Forest Grove to John Oberg.  Three children were born to them.

Edith Kathleen McAlear, daughter of Everett James McAlear and Alta Minida Good McAlear, was born November 29, 1916 in Hillsboro, Washington. She was married June 4, 1941 to Edward Hearn.  She died July 16, 1972 in Los Angeles.  Two sons were born to them.

Leanna Delilah Good, daughter of William Jacob Good and Cynthia Mary Morris Good, was born July 2, 1884 at Blue Mound, Missouri.  She was married about 1903 to Henry May and was remarried to Henry Beckendorf.  She died March 11, 1906 in Forest Grove.

Carmel Morris Good, son of William Jacob Good and Cynthia Mary Morris Good, was born September 20, 1928 in Forest Grove.  He died there at an early age.

George Washington Maberry, son of William Maberry and Mary Wilkinson Maberry, was born July 10, 1846 in Avalon, Missouri.  Following service in the Civil War he was married March 15, 1868 to Elivra M. Moor. He died in 1880 in Livingston County and was buried in Mayberry Cemetery.

James William Maberry, son of William Maberry and Mary Wilkinson Maberry, was born August 3, 1848 in Livingston County.  He was married May 1, 1879 to Charlotte Rambo and became a physician.  He died September 21, 1888 and was buried in Maberry Cemetery.

Robertson Zimri Maberry, son of William Maberry and Mary Wilkinson Maberry, was born December 9, 1850 in Avalon.  He died there December 21, 1867 and was buried in Maberry Cemetery.

Wiley Clinton Maberry, son of William Maberry and Mary Wilkinson Maberry, was born December 12, 1853 in Avalon.  He was married February 14, 1878 in Livingston County to Louise Moor.  He was remarried to Minnie Moor, believed to be a sister, after October 1878.  He died December 11, 1889 in Arkansas, and his body was returned to Avalon for burial in Maberry Cemetery.

Sarah Wilkinson, daughter of William Wilkinson and Michel Cox Wilkinson, was born in 1822.  She was married December 19, 1839 in Livingston County to Henry Boon.  She was remarried there July 8, 1856 to John Irving.

Rachel Wilkinson, daughter of William Wilkinson and Michel Cox Wilkinson, was born about 1824.  She was married about age 15 April 23, 1839 in Livingston County to Henry Roof.  She died before July 1840.

Zemariah "Zimri" Wilkinson, son of William Wilkinson and Michel Cox Wilkinson, was born in 1825.  He was married about 1849 to Mrs. Rebecca Maberry Leeper, widow with a four-year-old daughter, Nancy E. Leeper.  He was remarried October 8, 1853 in Livingston County to Sarah A. Simpson.

Noah Wilkinson, son of William Wilkinson and Michel Cox Wilkinson, was born about 1821.  He was married about 1842, possibly to Sarah J. A. Van Winkle, according to the research of Robert McAlear.  His name appeared on a petition in Livingston County in March 1856.  He was instrumental in organizing the Democratic party in Chillicothe, Missouri.  He was a southern sympathizer during the Civil War.  He attended a Democratic caucus in Chillicothe in 1862.

They removed from Missouri about 1862, possibly to Iowa.  It is believed that they returned to Missouri and then joined the migration to Texas.  It is reported that their two children "were abandoned in Texas."  It is believed that one was living in Montague County, Texas in 1880 and the other was living in Collin County, Texas.

A[ndrew?] Jackson Wilkinson, son of William Wilkinson and Michel Cox Wilkinson, was born about 1823.  He was married April 17, 1857 to Sarah D. Gregory.

Nancy Wilkinson, daughter of William Wilkinson and Michel Cox Wilkinson, was born in 1831.  She was married December 25, 1845 in Livingston County to John Ewing.

Martha Wilkinson, daughter of William Wilkinson and Michel Cox Wilkinson, was born in 1833.  She was married March 14, 1850 in Livingston County to William C. Norman.  It is believed that she died before 1869. William C. Norman was remarried July 1, 1869 to Mrs. Mary Carico.

Melinda Wilkinson, daughter of William Wilkinson and Michel Cox Wilkinson, was born in 1836.  She was married February 20, 1852 in Livingston County to Benjamin F. Norman, believed to be a brother to William C. Norman.  It is believed that she died about 1870 in Kansas William C. Norman reappeared in Jasper County, Missouri with wife, Melvina A. Wilkinson.  The 1880 Jasper County census shows him and wife, Anna A. Wilkinson with family.

Stephen Cox, son of Solomon Cox and Mary Dixon Williams Cox, was born about 1816 in Ross County, Ohio.  He was brought to Missouri by his father.  He was married in Ray County, Missouri May 29, 1836 to Elizabeth Dowell, a native of North Carolina, according to "Joseph Cox, Ancestors and Descendants."  They appeared in the 1840 and 1850 census returns of Livingston County, Missouri.  He appeared as the head of Household 179-179 in 1850 enumerated as:

 James M.  13, born in Missouri
 Elisa J.   11, born in Missouri
 Asriah   7,  born in Missouri
 Mary E.   5,  born in Missouri

They lived in Iowa in 1854 and 1857, but were recorded back in Livingston County in the 1860 census.  About the time of the Civil War they joined their relatives in Bell County, Texas and appeared in the 1870 census there as:

John Cox, son of Solomon Cox and Mary Dixon Williams Cox, was born about 1818, according to the research of Robert McAlear.  Of this individual nothing more is known.

Isaac Cox, son of Solomon Cox and Mary Dixon Williams Cox, was born about 1820.  He was married in 1842 to Susan Reece. Children born to Isaac Cox and Susan Reece Cox are unknown.

Amy Cox, daughter of Solomon Cox and Mary Dixon Williams Cox, was born about 1823.  Of this individual nothing more is known.

Ruth Cox, daughter of Solomon Cox and Naomi "Amy" Hussey Cox, was born about 1763 in Orange County, North Carolina.  She was married about 1780 to Joseph Johnson, according to "Joseph Cox, Ancestors and Descendants."  She was not mentioned in the will of her father written in 1819, suggesting that she had died prior to that time, probably without children.

Mary Cox, daughter of Solomon Cox and Naomi "Amy" Hussey Cox, was born in Orange County in 1769, according to "Joseph Cox, Ancestors and Descendants."  Following a residence in Virginia her family removed to Knox County, Kentucky.

Mary Cox was referred to, by her maiden name, by her father in his will which was written in 1819 in Hocking County, Ohio, so it is believed that she had not married at that time, [age 50].  Apparently she remained unmarried.

Ann Cox, daughter of Solomon Cox and Naomi "Amy" Hussey Cox, was born in Orange County about 1771.  She was mentioned in a certificate issued by Cane Creek Monthly Meeting, Guilford County, to her mother for a removal to New Garden Monthly Meeting January 6, 1781.  They were received there June 30, 1781. She was married about 1792, husband's name Perkins.  Ann Cox Perkins appeared in the will of her father written in 1819 in Hocking County, Ohio.  Of this individual nothing more is known.  [Another source suggests that Ann Cox Perkins was remarried to Modecai Carter and to them was born Lucinda Carter in 1814.]
