      2. Church, synogogue, religious records
      3. Bible records

    The Music Teacher

    by
JaLeen Bultman-Deardurff", a Hans Ernst Krieger descendant
JaLeen states that "the story is loosely based on the northern Indiana Creager family, written by a Creager descendant."
She further stated, "While The Music Teacher plot is fiction, there is a lot of Creager history incorporated. For example, my Creager ancestors lived (and are buried) in Columbia City, Indiana where the fictional Creager family lives. They are farmers whose ancestors immigrated from Germany."
Dedicated to JaLeen's great-grandmother, Helen (Creager) Auer

Jennifer Andros is a gifted violinist and teacher about to inherit the responsibility of Andros Conservatory for Gifted Children in Michigan City, Indiana. She's also in love with Adam Creager who supports her desire to have both career and family in site of the 19th century idea that married women stay home. Headmistress Belle Collins has a rule against teachers marrying and forbids Adam and Jennifer to see each other. Adam confides in Jake, the hired ex-slave and Jennifer's best friend, but Jake knows a terrible secret and warns Adam not to interfere. Forced to leave the premises without seeing Jennifer, Adam later hears about a fire that's claimed two lives, but he won't rest until he knows for sure what happened to the beautiful music teacher who captured his heart.
The Music Teacher is a tale of love, intrigue, mystery, and unconditional friendship.

    Said to have been:
Three major Krieger/Creager/Kruger/etc. families in Frederick County, Maryland
    in those early years.

  • 1. Our Family: Johann Casper Krieger, s/o Hans Ernst Krieger of Germany, who settled first in Oley Hills (aka Oley Mtns.), Pennsylvania, then moved the family to Mt. Pleasant area of Frederick County, Maryland...a little north and a touch east of the town of Frederick, Maryland.
  • 2. The family of Lorenze/Lorentz Krieger who settled in Mechanicstown, Frederick County, Maryland, now Thurmont, Frederick County, Maryland.
  • 3. The family of Hans Michael Krieger who settled between the other two Krieger families in Frederick County, Maryland. Linda Atwell names this family as "The Elk Pond Michael Krieger Family." On 19 March 1757 Michael received 145 acres of land called Batchellors Hall; on Sepember 9, 1758 he received a patent fo 393 acres of land called the resurvey of Anchor and Hope.
