One of the pleasant events of the season occured at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Biddick at Livingston, April 5, 1900, it being their 50th wedding anniversary. It was
a beautiful day which added much pleasure and merriment to the occasion. About
eighty were present. Their nine children and companions, thirty-four
grandchildren and a number of near relatives and friends. The dinner and
supper tables were elaborately spread with all kinds of refreshments. The
presents were costly and useful. Among the presents was a handsome bedroom
suite given by their children, and numerous other presents given by their
grandchildren, relatives and friends. A number of the party remained until a
late hour in the evening. The young ladies and gentlemen serenaded the event
in the evening and were treated very cordially. All wish the couple many
golden days. May the canopy of contentment shield their hearts from sorrow.
