Ida Biddick Fosbinder was born on Oct. 20, 1861, in the township of Mifflin. She was the fifth
child of Richard and Ann Rundell Biddick and departed from this life on Nov. 10, 1941, in a Dodgeville hospital at the
age of 80 years and 21 days.
On Oct. 25, 1892, she was united in marriage to Henry Fosbinder of Wingville township and during the early years of their married life they
resided on the Fosbinder homestead in Wingville township, later moving to their
present farm where they have resided ever since.
To this union were born four children: William R. of Fennimore; Nettie A. (Mrs. Fred Lipska) of Stitzer; Ethel M. (Mrs. Orville Needham) of Fennimore; Hazel A. (Mrs. Will Wilkins) of Preston.
As a girl she attended the Methodist church at Livingston. In later years she
was unable to attend but was a faithful believer to the end, living her
religion day by day.
She led a quiet home life. He every thought was for the happiness and welfare
of her children and those about her. She was beloved in the community and will
be greatly missed by a host of relatives, neighbors, and friends.
She was preceeded in death by three brothers, Thomas Henry, Harlan, and Edwin, and three sisters, Laura (Mrs. Will Andrew), Annie (Mrs. Will Peat), and Nettie (Mrs. C. A. Iverson).
Besides her husband and her children she leaves to mourn her loss two brothers, Adolphus of Livingston, and Harry of Platteville, also 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fosbinder as she was known in her neighborhood enjoyed fair health until
the last year. Since then she has been tenderly cared for by her husband and
children. Because of her loving and affectionate nature and desire to spare
her loved ones, she suffered in silence, and passed away in peaceful sleep.
We know she is safe, we've no reason to weep. The angels have called her home
to that wonderful place where no pain nor sorrow is known.
The funeral was held from the Livingston Methodist church, Rev. Holsington
officiating. Interment at Rock cemetery.
