Annie Biddick Peat, third daughter of Richard and Ann Biddick, was born Oct. 1, 1866, and passed away April 14, (1941), at Lancaster
hospital at the age of 75 years, and six months. She grew to womanhood in the
happy surroundings of her parents home near Livingston where she attended the
Livingston school and was a regular attendant of the Livingston Methodist
church.
She was united in marriage Dec. 20, 1892, to William Peat of Clifton where they took up farming. Five children were born to them: two
sons Delmar and Richard, both of Livingston, and three daughters, Annie dying in infancy, Florence, Mrs. H. Waterman, of Lancaster, and Mary, Mrs. M. Bisarek, of Montfort.
Her husband passed away May 12, 1914, leaving the family the responsibility of
running the farm, which they continued to do for a number of years.
For several years in her declining health, she has resided in the different
homes of her children.
She leaves to mourn her passing her four children; grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; also two brothers, Adolphus Biddick of Livingston, Harry Biddick of Platteville; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Fosbinder of Fennimore and Mrs. C. A. Iverson of Livingston.
She was a member of the Rundell-Biddick Association: and their annual picnics
were a source of great pleasure, mingling among her many near relatives.
"Aunt Annie", as she was often called, possed a cheerful, patient, and loving
disposition which won for her the high esteem of a large circle of friends,
also a strong Christian fortitude which has, sustained her in many trying
hours. Monday afternoon she slept peacefully away to awaken in a better land.
Those from out of town that attended the funeral on Thursday were: Mrs. James
Foulke of Independence, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. J. Brennson of Sun Prairie, Mrs.
Delbert Bast of Madison, Mrs. Cecil Joynt of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Will
Fosbinder, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lipska, Mr. and Mrs. Will Wilkins of Fennimore.
The Hugh Waterman family of Lancaster, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Biddick, Janet
Biddick, Mr. and Mrs. Cambert, Mrs. Margaret Williams, Virgil and William
Williams, Mr. and Mrs. C. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. William Shinn, all of
Platteville.
