Probably no stone is at the gravesite, because none was located. The funeral home stated that Mrs. J. A. Andersonís services were conducted at the residence at 2:30. The cause of her death was pneumonia, and she died 21 Jan 1905, at age 52 years old, and was buried Walnut Grove Cemetery. [The early death records read Walnut Grove but that is the same as New Site] The funeral home stated that she was Mrs. J. A. Anderson, but her given name was not listed.

In 1900 Rachel and John Henry Banks were living in Capps Creek Twp., in Barry Co., MO. At that time, Rachel Banks was age 43 and John was age 46. Children in the household were Maud, Julia, and John H. Solomon Rumbaugh, her half-brother, lived next door and Rachel's mother was living with them. The funeral home stated that Rachel Banks was born Barry Co., and her funeral was at New Site Church at 2 PM, and the place of her death was at Mrs. John Meyers' residence. She died on the 29th of Mar 1933, and the cause of death was cancer of stomach. She was born 10 Feb 1857, and was age 76 years, 1 month, 19 days old when she died.

He was born 1822.  He was first married to Samatha Ferguson, who was a sister to Sarah Ferguson. Sarah was married to Jonathan Hawley Wormington. The Ferguson girls were the daughters of James & Mary (Neal) Ferguson. Jonathan Wormington was a brother of Mary (Wormington) Boucher.

She was married and was buried at New Site. Her father was George D. Largen born NC, and her mother was Anthret Davis born NC. In 1880 in Barry Co., MO, Capps Creek Twp., Mary E. was listed as age 17 and her place of birth was given as Tennessee. Her parents were both listed as born in NC.

May 19, 1910, Thursday, Cassville Republican, Barry Co., MO - New Site News: Miss Mary Lanning was born in N. Carolina, Oct 20, 1840, moved to Arkansas in 1862 from there to Booneville, MO, in 1864. In 1867 she was married to William Browning and moved to Barry County in 1869 where she lived for thirty-two years going then to Oklahoma where at Wellstone she died May 9, 1910. The remains were brought to the home of her niece, Mrs. R. J. Holmes, May 11 and Thursday, May 12 at 10 a.m. were interred in the New Site Cemetery by the side of her husband who was buried just thirty-seven years ago on the same day. The services were conducted by Eld. Luther Carlin. The deceased was converted to faith in Christ at the age of 25 years and united with the Methodist church of which she was a faithful member at the time of her death. She was the mother of four children, there sons and one daughter, all of whom survive except the daughter who died in early childhood. The bereaved have the sympathy of all.

In 1850 Campbell Co., TN, Rhoda/Rhonda and John Bryant were listed. He was born about 1813 in KY and was a blacksmith and she was born about 1818 in TN. Their children were given as Sarah J., Calvin, James and Martha who was still unmarried in 1870 in MO. From the newspapers this was located: Mrs. Bryant, mother-in-law of James Browning of near Exeter, died Tuesday night. She was nearly 85 years old. The remains were laid to rest in the New Site Cemetery, Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Bryant was an old and highly respected citizen of the county. Artie Melissa Withers was married December 24, 1881 in Barry Co., MO, to Asa Carlin.  Her funeral was on the 5th of Sept 1919 at Walnut Grove Cemetery, [New Site] and she died 4 Sept 1919. Cause of her death was mitral insufficiency, age 69 years, 4 mos, 22 days, and was a widow. Father was William Withus Carlin, born in KS, & Leota Burnett, born in KS. Asa was buried at Carlin Cemetery. He was first married to Maria Gifford and she is also at Carlin Cemetery.

An abstract of the Calloway Funeral Home records of Monett, MO reads that Austin Luther Carlin's, funeral was on 11 Sept 1906, residence 10 AM. Death was at his country home. And the cause of death was that the child swallowed foxtail. Death was on 10th Sept at 2 PM.

 

He was the son of Ina H. Wormington and her husband Luther Carlin and a grandson of Nancy (Haddock) and William Marshall Carlin.

Charles Asa Carlin married Amanda Orahood April 1886 in Barry County and he married Minerva E. Hayes October 09, 1892 in Barry Co., MO. 

 

In 1920 Federal Population Schedules, US Census, Barry Co., MO, Monett, house # 35, family # 35, listed was Charles A. Carlin, who was age 57, and who was born in MO. He listed that his father was born in West Virginia and that his mother was born in MO. He was a widower, Virgil E., age 18, son, born in MO and his wife Vetra, age 16, were living with them, and she was age 16, born in MO. Both of her parents were born in MO. And on the 1930 Federal Population Schedules, US Census, Barry Co., MO, Monett, house # 16, family # 16, Charles A. Carlin, was age 67, a widower, born in MO, and stated that he first married at age 24. His father was born in WV and his mother in MO. Wash Montgomery lived next door.

Boggs at 12:30 PM, and the cause of death appendicitis, and his death occurred on the 11th of Jan in 1903, and his body was shipped from Saint Louis, MO to New Site.  He was married and was age 20 years, 7 mos, 3 days old. According to an abstract of the funeral home records he was buried at New Site Cemetery. Erskin was the son of Abram Carlin and Emma Hadley.

May 21, 1914, Thursday, Cassville Republican, Barry Co., MO - New Site News: Eld. C. M. Smith of Exeter was called to New Site Sunday to conduct the funeral services of Mrs. Ella Carlin who died at her home near Webb City, May 15, 1914. Ella J. Kirk was born in 1855. In 1881 she was married to Lafayette Carlin. To this union were born five children, two sons and three daughters, the oldest son died in infancy. The other children are living and were with their mother at the time of her death. The body was shipped to Monett where it was taken in charge by undertaker Calloway and after the services which was held at New Site the remains were laid to rest in the New Site Cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of all in this dark hour of Sorrow. 

 

Ella was a daughter of Henry C. and Mary A. Kirk and she was born in White Co., IN. In 1870 her family was listed in Vineyard Twp., Lawrence Co., MO.

Both his parents were born in MO. His wife is Ina H. age 37 born in MO, her father born in MO, and mother was born in Illinois. Children were given as Opal H.; Ermel J.; Ezekial B.; Hugh W.; and Maud M. According to the funeral home, Rev. Luther Carlin born Barry Co., MO, 17 Sept 1879 and died 27 April 1939, at 12 noon of Hodgkins disease. Burial was at Walnut Grove [New Site] and his funeral was on the 30th of April 1939 at the New Site Church at 2:30 PM.

Cassville Republican, Barry County, MO Newspaper, Feb 1893, Capps Creek News Items listed that Marshal Carlin sold 120 head of steers at $17.50 per head, and is now buying hogs and calves. W. M. Carlin's funeral was 6 April 1916, and the services were at New Site at 2:30 PM. The cause of death was cancer of the stomach. His age was 76 years, 3 mos., 17 days old. The following information is an abstract is from Barry Co., MO, Goodspeed's History of MO, page 1081. [Original copy of book in ownership] William Marshall Carlin, son of Asa and Maria Carlin, and one of the most prominent farmers of Barry Co., MO, was born in Harrison Co., VA, on December 19, 1839. In 1856 he came with his parents to Barry Co., MO, and remained with them until he was twenty years of age. Then when he married, he settled where he was living in 1888. (Goodspeed's account) William Carlin built the mill at Purdy, MO in 1885. On July 28, 1859, he was united in marriage with Nancy Haddock, who was born on February 25, 1859. Her father was Charles Haddock, one of the first settlers of the county. He was a farmer and stock raiser, and a very prominent citizen. To Wm Marshall Carlin and wife Nancy Haddock Carlin were born nine children (account from 1888 Goodspeed). They were Harrison L., Charles A., William S., Samantha, Thomas S., John F., Bitty, Pleasant and Luther. Wm Marshall Carlin served as a Union solider in the Federal Army, Civil War, and was a Baptist by faith. Cassville Republican Newspaper, Barry Co., MO, William Marshall Carlin, a great-grandson of John Champ Carlin, served in Missouri's Stone Prairie Home Guard and in Companies I and L, First Regiment, Arkansas Calvary of the Union Army.

Sidney was a descendant of Zachariah Haddock and William Marshall Carlin was first married to Charles Haddock, Jr.'s daughter, Nancy. Margaret's mother, Susan (Meyers) Rumbaugh, was the second wife of Charles Haddock, Jr. Sidney is buried at Munsey Cemetery, Barry Co.

Barry Co., MO, listed in the county paper, the Cassville Republican on May 19th of 1896 was Solomon Rombaugh, age 46 and Etta Belle Haddock age 21, Pierce City, MO, who had applied for a marriage license. Etta Belle Rumbaugh divorce from Solon Rumbaugh Circuit Court Divorce decrees, Cassville Republican, in the Oct 28, 1897 weekly paper.  Etta married Mike Linehart sometime before the census was taken in 1920 and then married Grover Greenway sometime after or around 1922.  Etta's daughter Eula L. Rumbaugh died in 1912 and is buried at New Site.
