Amos Wormington, Barry Co., MO

Amos Wormington's obituary reads that Amos Wormington, was age 84, and of Pierce City, MO. He died at 8 p.m. June 16 at Cox Monett Hospital following a long illness in Monett, MO. Amos Wormington was preceded in death by one foster son, Eddie Horner, in December of 1970; three brothers, and four sisters.  
Amos Wormington was born September 28, 1916, in Monett, the son of Bert and Minnie (Higgins) Wormington. Services were Wednesday, June 20, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett, MO. 
Amos Wormington married Billie Kring on April 25, 1943, in Monett, and she survives.  Burial was in New Site Cemetery, Barry Co., MO  
Additional survivors included one daughter, Deborah Banks; one sister, Ida Short and her husband, Ben; one brother-in-law, Eldon Kring and his wife, Charlene.   Obituary was published in the Monett Times

Additional Notes: In 1920 Amos Wormington was 3 years old and was living in the home of his parents.

1920 Barry County, MO, Federal Population Schedules, US Census: House # 88, Bert Wormington, farmer, age 40 born in MO, and both parents were born in MO. Minnie age 34 born in Missouri, and both of her parents were born in MO. Children are listed as Rachel, daughter, age 12; Ellen, daughter, age 11, born in MO; Lela, daughter, age 9; Everton, son, age 7; Ida, daughter, age 5; Amos, son, age 3. All the children were born in MO.

 Loyd Haddock, Barry Co., MO

Cassville, MO, Sept 2, Loyd Haddock, age 20 years old, son of Lawrence Haddock, of near Exeter, died last night at the Baptist Hospital at Springfield after a long illness. The Koon Funeral Home received his body. Published in the Joplin Globe and the Cassville Advertiser
Additional Information: Family stated that Loyd Haddock never married. He died of pneumonia after hitchhiking to Missouri from Shelton, WA. His mother, Mabel, begged him not to go because he had been very sick in hospital and had a tube from his chest that was still draining. He was picked up by police in Missouri because he had no money and no place to stay so was taken to jail where he died 9/1/1950. Lawrence rode bus to Missouri when he buried Lloyd. Additional Information: Another part of the Haddock family claims that Loyd Haddock died from a diabetic shock that he went into while at the city jail in Cassville, Barry Co., MO, but the paper never reported that story.

 Mary Lucille Haddock, Barry Co., MO

Mary Lucille Haddock's obituary reads that she was age 81, and of Cassville, MO.   Burial was be in Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, MO, Barry County.
Lucille Haddock died yesterday, September 19th, 2000, at her home. Mrs. Haddock was born November 15, 1918, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the daughter of Bert and Ruby Benigar Smithson.   Published in the Monett Times Obituary, Sept. 20, 2000, and the Cassville Advertiser
She married Homer Haddock in 1936, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include one sister, Juanita Edens of Cassville, one niece, several great nieces and nephews, and five grandchildren. Additional Information: Homer Haddock, her husband, was buried east of Monett at King's Prairie.
Lucille Haddock was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Moad and her husband. Additional Information: Peggy was adopted.

 Katherine Haddock, Barry Co., MO

Katherine Haddock, Obituary, Sept 29, 1999. Katherine Haddock, age 91, of Cassville, died at 1:20 A.M. yesterday, September 23, 1999 at Barry County Care Center in Cassville. And the survivors include one son, Bob Sermon of West Plains; one grandchild and one great grandchild.  
Mrs. Haddock was born September 29, 1907, in Alton, the daughter of James Henry and Allie Galloway Thomas.   She was preceded in death by one brother, Otto Thomas; and one sister, Merle Thomas. Services will be 10 A.M. tomorrow, September 25, at Fohn Chapel in Cassville with Rev. John Duncan officiating.  
She graduated from Cassville High School in 1926, attended Douglas Business College in Springfield for two years, and was deputy Barry County collector for 24 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cassville Autumn Leaf Club, Cassville Garden Club, and Celestia Chapter of the Order of the Easter Star.   Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 P.M. today, September 24, at the funeral home.  
She married John Henry Haddock on March 5, 1933, and he preceded her in death in March of 1980.   Additional Information: She was a deputy county collector for Barry County, MO, for many years. She had a twin sister named Gillie Thomas and they were the daughters of James Henry Thomas and Allie Galloway.

Roland Haddock of Wichita, Kansas

Wichita Eagle Newspaper: Wichitans' Kin Dies in Oklahoma, December 06, 1961. Survives include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Haddock, Exeter, his wife Letha, whom he married April 1, 1933 at Exeter; a son Carroll, Denver, Colo; seven sisters and three brothers and a grandson.
He was born Nov. 20, 1901 at Exeter, MO. 
Roland Haddock, 60, Tulsa, Okla., died Wednesday at his home. He was the brother of Mrs. A. D. Reams, 2337 S. Mosley, and Mrs. Carl Martin, 822 W. 47th South. He was employed by Douglas Aircraft, Tulsa.
