Grimesland, NC, Obituary for Mrs. Elsie Rouse Haddock, who died at age 77. She died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004.  She had lived there in the area for 59 years.

 

 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Haddock was preceded in death by three brothers, James Rouse and David Rouse, both of Oakland, CA and Paul Rouse of Washington, NC; three sisters, Mable Tate of Chico, CA, Anna Moresi of Millbrae, CA and Inez Gurganus of Washington, NC. 
The funeral service was conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel, in Greenville, NC. Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, NC. Obituary mentioned survivors. Not listed here.
She was a daughter of the late Claude and Rosabell Rouse, Mrs. Haddock was a Beaufort County native and a graduate of Washington High School. Obituary was published in the Daily Reflector.
  Additional Information: In 1930 Grover C. Haddock was age 2 years and 7 mos.

1930 Federal Population Schedules, US Census, Chicod Twp., Pitt Co., NC, house # 1, family # 1, listed Claude Haddock as the head of the household, age 42, farmer, born in NC. He listed both of his parents as born in NC. His wife was Dillie, age 35, born in NC. She listed both her parents as born in NC. She stated that she married at age 15 and Claude stated he was age 20 when he first married. All the children were born in NC. They were listed as Annie R., daughter, age 18; Sherman, son, age 16; D. Frizell, son, age 14; Jesse D., son age 11; Oscar B., age 9, son; Mildred H, age 7, son; Marie N., age 4 years and 7 mos; Grover C., son, age 2 years and 7 mos.

 

Mrs. Mildred Haddock Hardee, was age 79, and she died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

 

 

Mrs. Hardee was preceded in death by her husband, William Alvah Hardee Sr.; a sister, Annie Ruth Mills; and four brothers, Leon J. Haddock, Frizzelle Haddock, Sherman Haddock and J.D. Haddock.
The funeral service was conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel.  Burial was in Pinewood Memorial Park. 
Mrs. Hardee was a lifelong resident of Pitt County, and attended Grimesland High School. Survivors were mentioned. Not listed here.
