Charles & Anna (Walraven) Haddock's descendants of Pulaski Co., GA

In Pulaski County, GA, in the year of 1820, Charles Haddock made his will. It reads: State of Georgia, Pulaski County} In the name of God Amen I Charles Haddock of the said State and County being of sound mind and memory but low in health and well knowing the uncertainty of human life and certainty of death do make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows: Item 1st: I give an bequeath to my son William Haddock the sum of three hundred and forty dollars in notes on William Smith which are payable at Christmas next. Item 2nd: I give and bequeath to my daughters Sarah Sutton and Mary Mills one Negro girl by the name of Eliza one note on Jesse Cannon for one hundred and forty dollars, one note on Giles Nelson for one hundred and seventy dollars and interest in receipt on James English hands for collection out of sundry persons in North Carolina the sum of three hundred and twenty nine dollars and interest also one note on Samuel Nobel for seventy dollars also one note on Peter Albritton for twenty dollars also one bay horse and one bay mare also three cows & calves two dry cows one steer & one two year old heifer to be equally divided between them. Item 4th: I give and bequeath to my grandson Charles Mills one two year old heifer. Item 5th: I give an bequeath to my grandson Charles Haddock one two year old heifer. Item 6th: I give and bequeath to my daughter Martha Haddock one feather bed and bed spread. Item 7th: I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Sutton and Mary Mills all my crop now growing also all my farming tools to be divided and equally divided between them also all my stock of hogs. Item 8th: I give and bequeath to my son William Haddock one cart and one shot gun. Item 9th: I do hereby nominate and appoint my friend Furney F. Gatlin and my son William Haddock executors to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 4th day of September 1820. In 1809, John Haddock deeded land in Pitt County. The document mentions Luke Haddock and reads: Luke was a witness to the deed that John Haddock and Admiral Haddock made to Jordan Haddock in 1809, Pitt County, NC.

Pulaski County, GA, 3 Nov 1823: William Haddock - temporary administrator of Luke Haddock; William Reeves and Thomas Sutton security for $1,000. 1 Feb 1824: William Haddock appointed administrator of Luke Haddock. Pulaski County, GA, 1 Feb 1824, William Haddock was the administrator of Luke Haddock's estate. Willis B. Reeves and Turner Coley, sec. for $600.

Luke Haddock was murdered at Ft Hawkins, GA, and his daughter Sally was taken by Charles and Frances (Hawkins) Haddock in September of 1823. On the 18th of Sept. 1823, Luke Haddock was murdered by Martin B. Rouse and Joseph B. Bryan of Pulaski County. Rouse has been jailed but Bryan had fled justice. Issued 24, September 1823. From the files of Doug Bell: Pulaski County Georgia Court of Ordinary Will, Book B, 1855-1906, page 412 Last will and testament of Miss Emily Haddock, State of Georgia, Pulaski County - Know all men by these presents that I Emily Haddock of the county of Pulaski and state of Georgia considering the uncertainty of this life and being of sound mind and memory do make and declare and publish this my last will and testament. First: I give and bequeath to my cousin S. M. Blount one half interest in lot of land 230 in district 21 of the above state and county for and during his natural life in the event he has no children then to go to my cousin S. C. Collins and her children. Second: I give and bequeath to my cousin S. C. Collins and her children one half interest in lot of land 230 in district 21 of the above state and county. Third: I give and bequeath to my sister Sallie Haddock the daughter of Luke and Martha Haddock in the event she is living to be paid to her by S. M. Blount; if dead to go to Polly Ham and Milton Ham's daughter Rebecca A. Malinda, also to Amey and Richard Saulter's daughters Mary A. Elizabeth and Susan E. Saulter. Fourth: I will and bequeath to Rebecca A. Malinda Ham, Mary A. Elizabeth Saulter, and Susan E. Saulter $120 each to be paid to them by S. M. Blount at my death. In case either of them dies without a child the money to go to the survivors. Fifth: I will and bequeath to Mary A. Bryant $20, and to John B. Holmes $20, to James R. Holmes' two daughters and Narcissa C. Clark's four daughters $30 to be equally divided among the six at my death. I nominate and appoint cousin S. M. Blount executor to this my last will and testament. Emily Haddock signed sealed and delivered in presence of us this August 12, 1893 J. R. Martin, T. F. Willis, R. D. Willis In person before me in open court came John R. Martin, who being duly sworn says that he is one of the subscribing witnesses to the above and foregoing instrument in writing that he saw Emily Haddock sign said instrument and heard her declare the same to be her last will and testament that at the time of signing the said Emily Haddock was of sound and disposing mind and memory and in making said will acted truly and voluntarily. That deponent signed said will as a witness at the request of said testatrix and in her presence and that he saw T. F. Willis and R. D. Willis the two other subscribing witnesses do so likewise. J.
