General Information
The Society is located in Hamilton, the county seat of Butler County,
Ohio.
Primary emphasis is placed on research in Hamilton City and the
surrounding
townships; however, the Society frequently publishes material of value
to all Butler County researchers. Additionally, the Society welcomes
anyone
with an interest in genealogy without regard to ancestral location.
Society Purpose
The Society aids in the collection, indexing, preservation, and
publication
of Butler County records. The Society also actively assists individuals
in tracing their ancestry by means of lectures, educational workshops,
and provision of library, newsletters, and research assistance.
Events
Regular Meetings:
The Society usually meets on the third Wednesday of every month at
7:00 p.m. in the lower level of the Lane Public Library, North Third
and
Buckeye Streets, Hamilton, Ohio.

The Society Newsletter: Buckeye Branches
Buckeye Branches is distributed four times a year to all Society
members. Publishing abstracts of Butler County records has been a
priority
for the newsletter. Ongoing projects include the abstracting of
articles
from the Hamilton Intelligencer as well as later Hamilton
newspapers.
The Society has also published Butler County Estate Inventory indexes,
abstracts of the death records of the Butler County Probate Court, and
tax lists. These features make the newsletter a valuable research tool
for local and out of state members. Ann Elam, Jan Betscher, Linda
Thompson and John Pack, are serving as editors of Buckeye Branches
Membership/Dues:
The membership year runs from January 1 to December 31. Annual dues are
$10. Those who wish to apply for membership are invited to write the
Society.
