From the December 23, 1943 issue of the STUDENT LIFE Vol X No. 3 MID-YEAR GRADUATION This year the Senior class faces something new and different from other classes that have
graduated from this school. It is the midyear graduation which is a necessity
this year because of the present conflict in the world today. Those boys who are eighteen or will be before the last of January will make up this class so they may join the Armed Forces are: Robert W. Starks, Elvin L. VanZee, George R. Wilson, Byron E. Meehan, and Durwood E. Dennis. Baccalaureate will be held in the St. Lawrence Community Church January 23. Rev. Luke will preach the sermon. Commencement will be January 28, (1944) in the high school gymnasium. The speaker will be the Honorable Clifford Walsh of Miller. With the new Selective Service ruling the boys will be inducted into the Armed Services immediately after graduation. Best wishes go to the boys from the student body as they go to serve Uncle Sam. |
