Notes for David ZIMMERMAN
A Democrat. He was reared by his grandfather, John Zimmerman, when his father, John died while he was quite young (c.1830). He became a farmer. Some time after his marriage he bought his father-in-law's farm in Roaring Creek Twp., Columbia Co. The farm consisted of over 100 acres, upon which he made a permanent settlement. He died there.
Land Transactions: purchased 106 acres, Locust Twp., 3 Feb 1865, from Daniel and Mary Magdalena Miller, located along creek. (Col Co. v.28 p.755, land originally Jacob/Eliz. Stine (22 Apr 1839), purchased by Miller 1854); sold to Rudolph Z. 14 May 1885 (Col v57 p82)
