Mrs. Claus was very patient in her illness and never complained. Everything possible was done to make her comfortable and restore her to health. God needed her more than she was needed here on earth, so we must bear it patiently.

Her pleasant greetings are missed by a host of friends. She leaves to mourn, a husband, a sweet little daughter, Linda Lou, two and a half years; her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. George M. Christman; one brother, Clarence, of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Paren Baker, of Barnesville, Route 2, and Mrs. Michael Burkhart, Jr., of Woodsfield, Route 3.

We wish to thank all our neighbors and friends for their help in any way during the illness and at the time of the death of our dear wife and daughter.

              Leora, dear from pain relieved

A golden crown in heaven received,

Leaves to mourn father, mother, brother, sisters two

A loving husband, a darling girlie, Linda Lou.

In her troubles she made peace with God

Before the long and lonely journey trod.

We miss her sweet and loving smile

As we saw her happy, jolly all the while.

She liked to toil in house, on farm

To pass her time in work she saw no harm.

Of lovely flowers at her home there was no end

Many an hour with them she did spend.

Now her loving hands are laid at rest

Kinkade, Hildreth Kinkade

MT.  VERNON  OIL  WORKER  BURNS  IN  WRECKED CAR

Body   Identified   as   That   of   Hilgreth   Kinkade,   Oil   Worker,

Car   Had   Hit   Tree

Hildreth Kinkade, 28, an oil worker at Mt. Vernon, Ill., was found burned in his car at the foot of Patterson Hill south of Carbondale last night.

The body was burned beyond recognition.  Blood stains were reported on the side of the car.

At the Bledsoe residence, 703 Casey street, Mt. Vernon, where Kinkade made his home, it was said that he was last seen there at 6:15 p.m. when he left in his car, a 1938 Terraplane.

Two Centralians named Thomas and Lewis reported the car fire at Carbondale.  When firemen arrived at the scene the car was still burning.  The Centralia men had attended a bowling game at Anna last night.

It had hit a tree.  One forward fender was bent.  The car was in low gear and the brake was on when firemen approached it and took out Kinkade's body.

The Parker undertaking establishment has the body.  An inquest was timed to begin at 3 p.m. today.

        D. R. Kinkade of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, brother of the deceased, is expected to arrive today and take charge of arrangements.  It is expected that the body will be buried in Oak Lawn cemetery, Carbondale.

Deceased is survived also by the mother, Mrs. Mary Kinkade of Erie, Penn.

Pending the inquest late today law officers were reported engaged in an investigation meant to solve perplexing circumstances pertaining to the death.

Indications were that the car had not hit the tree hard enough to injure the occupant, and one report today is that Kinkade may not have been alone when his car ran over the edge of the pavement onto the shoulder, or was pushed there.

Officers were called to the undertaker's at Carbondale this morning.  At that time it was reported that a more thorough examination of the body was to be made.

One unverified report was that a wound and been found in the body that could have caused Kinkade's death prior to the time when the car burned.
