Fox,
Dolores (Lori) Fox, nee Dahl
Source: www.funeralhomesmith.com; 16 Sep 2009
Dolores (Lori) Fox passed away on 09/12/09 after a year
long battle with cancer.
Lori was born 05/10/42 in Sunnyside to David and Ellen
Dahl. She attended Outlook and Sunnyside schools graduating from Sunnyside High
in 1960.
She married her longtime Sunnyside sweetheart, Robert (Bob)
L. Fox Sr. on July 9th, 1960. They had 49 years together and continued to be
sweethearts throughout their marriage. They resided in the Yakima Valley their
entire lives except for a short time they spent in San Francisco while Bob
finished his time with the United States Marines.
Lori attended Beauty College and received her beautician
license. She went on to co-own a beauty salon and also worked in various other
salons.
Not long before she was
diagnosed with cancer she was operating a salon at an assisted living facility.
She really enjoyed being of service to the women and also to some of the men
that resided there. To her it was a mission of love and caring to many who were
forgotten.
For many years Lori enjoyed painting ceramics. If someone
happened to admire a piece of her work she very often would give the piece to
that person. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She made many afghans,
dish cloths and checkerboard slippers which we all enjoyed. She had a green
thumb like nobody else and could revive houseplants that only had a stem with
one leaf. She loved to plant flowers in the spring and her flowers would last
clear into the fall months.
Though we will miss her greatly, we live with the knowledge
that she is in the arms of Jesus and there is no more sickness or pain.
Lori is survived by her husband Bob Fox of Sunnyside, her
children Lorrie (Randy) Wesselius of Zillah and Bobby (Deadean) Fox of
Sunnyside, her mother Ellen Dahl, four grandchildren, Sarah Bussey, Dusty
(Mandy) Fox, Jacob (Melissa) Wesselius and Nikki Fox. Nine great-grandchildren,
Ian, Makenna & Riley, Kellee Jo & D.J., Coraima, Leonel, Anthony &
Jaden. Two sisters Janice Davidson and Darlene Leonard and one God-daughter Amy
Widdows.
She was preceded in death by her father David Dahl.

Family Catholic Church located at 5315 Tieton Dr. Yakima, 98908 WA at 6pm .

Hackathorn, Harold (Jake) Eugene Hackathorn
Source: The Canton [Ohio] Repository; 29 Jul 2009
Heaven received a very special angel.... Harold (Jake)
Eugene Hackathorn, age 87 born in Bergholz, Ohio, December 24, 1921 to the late
Charles and Molly (Mercer) Hackathorn, passed away peacefully July 27, 2009 at
his home in his favorite chair, after a courageous and dignified battle with
leukemia. He leaves behind many precious memories that we will carry with us
forever. Jake served our country in the United States Navy receiving an
honorable discharge. Jake lived in Canton most of his life, retiring from
Republic Steel in 1981 after 42 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting,
camping and loved to cook especially stuffed peppers. We traveled together to
many places when I was growing up. My dad loved sports, baseball and football
especially. My dad loved to talk and tell stories from the good ole days, my
dad traveled all over the US before marrying my mom. I will remember my dad as
a strong willed, self made man, that always made me feel safe and secure. His
rough exterior, sometimes harsh ways, were nothing compared to his soft gentle
side that could put a smile on my face anything. My parents took care of
numerous foster children throughout their lives and were the most loving,
generous, caring and hard working people that I knew and our hearts will mourn
their absence. I was blessed to be adopted, loved and nurtured by these
wonderful souls. Jake lost his beloved wife of 46 years, Mary (Marna)
Hackathorn, April 9, 1997 and missed her terribly. Also preceded in death by
his brother, Chester and sister, Ruth.
Jake will be greatly missed by his daughter, Audrey, who
adored him with all her heart and soul; son-in-law, Dave Burleson, who he
resided with; grandchildren, that he did so many wonderful things for and loved
unconditionally, Timothy and Andrea Beard; our beloved dogs, Marna Jean and
Nakidah, all of Canton; brother, Roy (Butch) Hackathorn of Carrollton; sisters,
Jerry and Joann; and many nieces, nephews and cousins; special family friend
that dad called his other daughter, and talked to every morning, Rhonda Zombeck.
The family wishes to thank, Andrea, Rhonda, Darlene, Dr. Drumm and all the
wonderful people who helped make my dad more comfortable. Special thanks to
very special cousin, Clarence Guest for all of the trips to the doctor and
caring help and the VA, and Dr. Rafiques office and Aultman Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in
the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial
Park. Calling hours will be held Wednesday (TONIGHT) from 6-8 p.m. in the
