Whenever I learn of a family reunion I will post it to this page. Hopefully this will get the word spread more widely so that more can attend. If you know of a reunion, please let me know so I can share the information.
North Carolina Settlemyres have for several years now gathered on the Saturday before Memorial Day in Bryson City.
Saturday, June 16, 2001 – Settlemyer-Laseter Family Reunion. The reunion will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the dining hall at Martin Dies Jr. State Park. Bring a covered dish, desert, snacks, or drinks for dinner which begins at 12:00 noon. The telephone number for the park is (409) 384-5231. July 21, 2001 – Saddlemire Family Reunion at the town park in Knox, NY – the first reunion of this family since 1895! One pre-reunion activity that has been suggested is the restoration of the Saddlemire family burial site that has deteriorated very badly over the years – it is overgrown with brush and vines, the stones have fallen over and most are at least partially covered with dirt and weeds. Gerry Saddlemire has suggested that a work party tackle the job a day or two before the reunion so that others will be able to visit and enjoy seeing the graves of the earliest ancestors. The family of Grover Lemuel and Mayme (Brady) Settlemoir will hold its annual
reunion at the home of Annette Settlemoir Shroyer in Albany, Indiana from noon
on Saturday, July 14, until the food and conversation run out. Reunion has been
known to last 48 hours!

Stan is the youngest son of Virginia Hope Settlemoir Mathews, oldest child of
Grover and Mayme Settlemoir. Grover was born in Clay County Arkansas, the son of
Richard Baxter Settlemoir and grandson of Andrew James Settlemoir. All
Settlemoir cousins are welcome to join us.
Our West Coast family holds its reunion in late August in Castle Rock, WA.
