The Settlemyre/Zettelmeyer Page

About this Site

This site is dedicated to the family of Johannes Jacob Zettelmeyer, native of Dorf Erbach and immigrant from Bad König, Odenwald, Hesse, Germany to Berks County, Pennsylvania in 1751. However I am interested in collecting information on all persons with this surname, regardless of their tie to this immigrant family. Click here to view the various ways the surname has been spelled. These spellings have come from the German Telephone Book on-line as well as public records found across the United States.

The region in Hesse where the family has first been located has been referred to as the Odenwald (Odin’s Woods) or Starkenburg (which literally means "fortified castle").

I am continuing to develop this site by making information through the links below as time permits.
