Hans,
Sorry for the long delay in replying. I was in the middle of getting ready to start a new semester at college which requires chasing down a lot of papers and running around campus trying to get everything in my file on time. What a pain.

Anyway, here's a very interesting note on your research request. I went back into the 1900 census, so I could see the names of the family group for your Eduard Van landschoot. And to my surprise, one of the family groups that I am researching as a collateral line is living within the same building as your family group. This would be 9 Alabama Avenue. Your Van landschoot group is family number 469. My Timmergroup is family number 467. I found that little bit very neat in its small world way.

Also in the 1870 census, I found a William Van landschoot family group, living in Illinois. I have attached the jpeg image of this census record to this email.

I tried very hard to find your family group in 1910. I could not. I couldn't find Edward or his wife Ida or their daughter. I'm betting there is a spelling issue on the name. I did find a small family group of Van landshoo folks in Paterson and New York. Seems possible there might be some connection. You can find this family group in the SSDI if you have not already done so.

I did search my telephone directories for your family group and again, came up empty. I don't ususally strike out, but sometimes even I can't find anything. I might also suggest that you contact the church they may have attended. Obviously at that time in Paterson there existed a large group of immigrants from Belgium, so they probably went to one church. If you can find their parish, you can see if they will look into their records for you. On the Catholic side of things, I've had some good luck with this.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Also, as a return favor for me I was hoping you could help me out with a lookup in your Ancestry subscription. I am looking for the 1920 census index entries for an Owen Garvey, living in the NYC area. He may be in Manhattan, Queens, or possibly the Bronx. Also, I am looking for the 1930 census index entries for a Catherine (aka Bridget) Garvey (this would be Owen's widow), also living in the NYC area, prossibly Queens or the Bronx, maybe Manhattan. Might be living with her sister at that time. I have access to the census records, but not the index. Any help you could provide is greatly appreciated.

Take care,
Kim V. Garvey-Levy
