     Joachim Landschoft was born on 4 May 1833 at Schlessweg Holstein, Prussia. He was the son of Christian Landschof and Fredericka Land. Joachim Landschoft married Magdalena Kohler circa 1859 at Winona Co., Minnesota. Joachim Landschoft died on 21 January 1914 at Winona City, Winona Co., Minnesota, at age 80.1,2 He was buried on 23 January 1914 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona City, Winona Co., Minnesota.3 His estate was probated on 18 February 1914 at City of Winona, Winona Co., Minnesota; Proof of will was made on the estate of Joachom Landscho(r.)4
     He was wagonmaker. This year he bought property in Winona Co.      Emma Landschoft was born circa January 1860 at Winona City, Winona Co., Minnesota. She was the daughter of Joachim Landschoft and Magdalena Kohler. Emma Landschoft died on 2 December 1909 at Winona City, Winona Co., Minnesota.1,2 She was buried on 5 December 1909 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona City, Winona Co., Minnesota.3
     She appeared on the census of 7 July 1860 in the household of Joachim Landschoft and Magdalena Kohler at 3TH Ward of City of Winona, Winona Co., Minnesota; He was wheelwright and had real estate valued at 100 dollars and personal estate 150 dollars.
(E) Historically, a wheelwright made wheels for carts and wagons by constructing the hub, the spokes and the rim segments and assembling them all into a unit. Most wheels were made from wood but other materials have been used, such as bone and horn, for decorative or other purposes. The iron tire was pre-fabricated by a blacksmith and it was the final item assembled to make the wheel a unit.
