!AInfoNew* The Forbes were often at feud with their neighbours, including the powerful house of Huntly. After a brush with the Irvines in 1605, Lord Forbes with Pitsligo, Tolquhon and another local laird took burden on themselves 'for the whole clan and name of Forbes and their friends' to pay Irvine of Drum £4,000 for killing his stewart and the attempted murder of some of his name.7
