  Alexander Sinkler or St. Clair was born Abt. 1666 in Scotland?, and died Bef. 1751 in Prince William Co., VA. He married Unknown.

Children of Alexander St. Clair and Unknown are:

1. John Sinkler or St. Clair, born in State of Virginia (Possible); died Bef. September 1771 in Fauquier Co., VA.

2. Robert Sinkler or St. Clair, died 1759. He married Margaret Unknown.

3. Mary Sinkler or St. Clair. She married Edward Willbourne.

4. Margaret Sinkler or St. Clair. She married Francis Tennell 09 November, 1740 in Stafford Co., VA.

5. Patience Sinkler or St. Clair. She married William Young 22 July, 1744 in Stafford Co., VA.

6. Elizabeth Sinkler or St. Clair. She married Charles Jones 21 April, 1751 in Stafford Co., VA.

7. Sarah Sinkler or St. Clair. She married Robert Cockley 21 September, 1740 in Stafford Co., VA.

8. Wayman Sinkler or St. Clair , Sr., born Abt. 1710 in Stafford Co., VA (Possible); died July 1762 in Loudoun Co., VA.

Alexander left a will, but it has not been located.   Probably he is the Alexander who immigrated to America:  4 year indenture, arrived 19 Oct 1698 on the ship "Loyalty" from Glasgow, SCT; this relatively short indenture indicates that he was probably educated.

Inventory of Alexander's estate is recorded in Prince William Co., VA Will BK C, pp 267-268.

Alexander made a deposition on 07 Sep 1745 that he was aged about 79 years: John Mercer Land Title Book, page 17; VA State Archives Acc. #20487.

  Wayman Sinkler or St. Clair , Sr. was born Abt. 1710 in Stafford Co., VA (Possible), and died July 1762 in Loudoun Co., VA. He married (1) Mary? Shirley Bef. 1742, daughter of Richard Shirley and Mary Graham. He married (2) Hester Smallwood 1760, daughter of Pryor Smallwood and Elizabeth Stone.

1. Alexander Sinkler or St. Clair, born Abt. 1742 in Prince William Co., VA; died Abt. 1779 in State of Kentucky (Possible).

3. Robert Sinkler or St. Clair , Sr., born Abt. 1746 in Prince William Co., VA; died Abt. July 1827 in Bedford Co., VA.

The Will of Wayman Sinckler, Senr.

Loudoun County, VA Will Book "A", pp 59 (1757-1771)

In the name of God Amen.  I Wayman Sinckler Senr of the Parish of Cameron and County of Loudoun being weak of Body but of Perfect sense and Memory do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)  First and Principally I commend my Soul to Almighty God hopeing for his mercy in the permission of all my Sins through the Merits of Jesus Christ my only Mediator and Redeemer and advocate and my Body to be Buried at the discretion of my Exors. hereafter named and as for such Estate as it hath pleased God to favour me with I dispose thereof as followeth viz.

My Will is that all my Land in Prince William County with so much of the Rest of my Personal Estate be sold by my Exors in Order to discharge all my Debts as shall be sufficient to discharge the same....

Item   I leave all the rest of my said Estate to be equally divided amongst all my children Viz...Alexander, Isaac, Robert, Mary, George, Wayman and Elizabeth Sinckler that is to say to be equally divided among them when the youngest of them surviving shall arive to the Age of Sixteen years which Child is now eight years of age and further my Will is that the said Remainder of my said Estate remain in the hands of my said Exors in Order to raise and School &e. my said children until the said time of their coming of Age to be expired....

I do hereby constitute and appoint my Loving wife Hester Sinckler and my friend Bridgar Haynie with my Brother John Sinckler Exors. of this my last Will and Testament.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 12th day of April Anno Domini 1762.

At a Court held for Loudoun County July the 13th 1762, This Will was proved by the Oaths of Russell Wilson, George Jordan and Ann Jordan, Witnesses thereto and is Ordered to be Recorded And on the Motion of Hesther Sinckler and Bridger Haynie two of the Executors therein named who made oath According to Law, Certificate is Granted them for obtaining a Probat thereof in due form Giving Security whereupon they together with James Lane (?) Gent.  their Security entered into and Acknowledged their Bond in the Penalty of Five hundred Pounds with Condition as the Law directs.

And Liberty is Reserved to John Sinckler the other Executor therein named to Join in the Probat thereof when he shall think fit.

7. Thomas "Capt" Sinkler or St. Clair, born 16 December, 1783; died June 1863. He married Rachel Litton?.

8. Mary "Polly" Sinkler or St. Clair, born Abt. 1784. She married (1) William Yates 26 August, 1802 in Bedford Co., VA. She married (2) Moses Waldron 05 March, 1804 in Botetourt Co., VA.

9. Rachel Sinkler or St. Clair, born Abt. 1785. She married Joseph Feazel 24 November, 1800 in Bedford Co., VA.

10. Martha "Patsy" Sinkler or St. Clair, born Abt. 1787. She married Aaron Feazel 01 March, 1801 in Bedford Co., VA.

11. Nancy Sinkler or St. Clair, born Abt. 1789. She married John D. Patterson 17 May, 1804 in Bedford Co., VA.

Will of Robert St. Clair, Senior

I, Robert St. Clair, Senr. of Bedford County Do hereby make this my last will and testament In manner and form following that is to say

1st  I desire that all my Just debts shall be paid

2dly  I lend to my wife Ruth St. Clair the tract of land together with the mill where I now live during her natural life to be rented out by my Executor hereafter to be named for her support the ballance of the rent if any to be divided as I shall hereafter name

3dly  I give to my daughter Betsy Browning the cotton Meshine (machine) now in my possession together with the tract of land which she has all ready received and sold to Isaac St. Clair he sold to John St. Clair and conveyed by me to him

4dly  I give to my son Isaac St. Clair the one half of the tract of land he now lives on

5dly  I give to my son John St. Clair one dollar Together with the tract of land he now lives on

6dly  I give to my son George St. Clair the other half of the tract of land I gave Isaac

7dly  I give to my daughter Polley Walrond (Waldron) that part of the tract of land she now lives on not conveyed to Robert St. Clair, Junr.

8dly  I give to my son Robert St. Clair, Thomas St. Clair and Daughters Rachel Feazel, Patsey Feazel and Nancy Patterson the Ballance of my Estate Real and personal (to be equally divided between them) five as I shall hereafter direct my Persihable Property to be sold as soon as convenient and the money Divided between them also to sell the tract of Eighty five acres of land where Joseph Feazel settled on a credit of one two and three years and Divide the money also between them five also after the Death of my wife to sell the tract fo land I left her for a support on a credit of one two and three years and Divide the money also between them five.

And lastly I do here by constitute and appoint my firends John D. Patterson and Aaron Feazel my Eexcutors to this my last will and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eighth Day of May one thousand Eight hundred and twenty two.

At a court held for Bedford County at the courthouse July 23, 1827 (or July 25) the preceding last will and testament of Robert Sinkler dec'd. was proven by the oaths of John H. Otey, Sr. and Wilson N. Bugg, subscribing witnesses and was ordered to be recorded and at the motion of John Patterson, one of the executors therein named, who made oath and gave bond and security according to law, cerificate is granted him for obtaining probate thereof in due form.
