Was the widow of Thomas MAXWELL of Cuil, Parish of Buittle when shemarried
Patrick. Was also the daughter of a NEILSON, merchant in Dumfries whowas
the brother to the laird of Barncailzie. The lands (excepting Cuil)which
Thomas conveyed to his wife Isabel did not belong to him, but were onlyheld
in trust. After his death it created much litigation.
She had issue with Patrick but none survived. (McKerlie)
