In possession of Orchardtoun, Rerrick in 1799. He is stated by M'Kerlieto be the grandson of William Douglas, the founder of Castle-Douglas, butthis cannot be true as William DOUGLAS never married. It is believed thatthis James DOUGLAS was the brother of the above William DOUGLAS. To hisdaughter Mary he left the farm of Nethertoun et al.
