John HERON succeeded his father in 1465. He is said to have married oneof the three daughters of a M'Kie of Keruchtree. There seems to be someconfusion as to whether Kirrouchtrie was acquired by the HERONs throughthe M'LURGs or the McKIEs. John had issue - Andrew. (McKerlie)
John died in 1505, aged 55 years.
One of the three daughters of M'KIE of Keruchtree and obtained with herhalf of the farm of Lessons, with the third of Kiruchtree. She had asister, Barbara McKIE, who married the laird MURDOCH of Cumloden andanother who married the laird of L....
It is further mentioned that her father built a remarkable jointure housefor her as regards architecture, on Lessons farm, another on Blackcraigfarm for his daughter Barbara. All of the houses were the same peculiarbuild. Her father also built a house on Torinock for his third daughterwho married the laird of Larg. (McKerlie)
