This may be the brother of the Alexander HERON and Robert HERON who wentto Jamaica and may have even went to Jamiaca himself between 1802 and1806, but this is unlikely because this William HERON fathered childrenin Scotland between 1795 and 1808. However, this William may have gone toJamaica prior to 1795, returned home and married Margaret GIFFORD in 1795when he was at least 30 years old.

Probably the same person as Jane (born abt 1799)
Not mentioned in 1841 or 1851 census. Stated to have sailed for Jamaicain 1821 (Mary Richardson). Richard Mitchell in his book 'A Heron FamilyForest Grew in Manchester' states that a Patrick HERON, planter, aged 40died at Wigton, Jamaica in 1838. But a Patrick HERON who was born in 1820and died 7 Feb 1858 is buried in New Penninghame Cemetery with otherHERONs. This may have been the 'natural' son of Patrick HERON (1799-1838)who may have gone to Jamaica.
