Robert REID was one of seven children as a letter dated 12 April 1833from his mother (Margaret REID) mentions: Peggy deceased 1825, Johndeceased while serving in 91st Regiment in Jamaica, sister Mary deceased1829, living were Ann, James and William. His father having died March 2,1832. When the letter was written, his mother was living at the residenceof the Reverend J.L.M.Scott, Hilldale, Lisburn.
