Patrick HERON\Margaret MCKIE OR MCCAW
Patrick HERON, son of Patrick HERON and Margaret MCKIE , was born abt. 1570 in Minnigaff, Wigtownshire. He married Margaret MCKIE OR MCCAW abt. 1589 in Minnigaff, Kirkcudbrightshire. He died 1636. Margaret MCKIE OR MCCAW was born abt. 1575.

Notes for Patrick HERON:

Patrick succeeded his father. Nov 20, 1618 he was delaitit for theslaughter of Robert GORDON of Bairnairny(?) within the dwelling-house ofAndro M'DOWALL, merchand in Mongaf. We are told that Patrick HERON andthe M'CLURGs (M'DOWALLs) of Machermore were in constant strife about theold land in the march betwixt them, described as at the head of thegreen. The latter, it is stated ploughed it up and the former then stolea march on him by sowing the seed, when the controversy grew so hot thatthey first threatened the lives of each other, and then subsided to thatnearly equally dangerous resort the law. However, in the meantime, thecorn was ripening and when in Edinburgh wasting their substance inlitigation, their wives it is said "being in a better understanding" whenthe corn was ripe, they cut it down, gathered the cattle of bothproperties and had it eaten up, which ended the plea. The landthereafter was used promiscously. Patrick HERON cleared off the wadseton the farm of Lessens.
July 1632 an Andrew HEROWN had sasine of the land of Keravtrie
On the 29th October 1633, Patrick HERON was served heir, avi, of JohnHERON (his grandfather or uncle?). His wife survived him, and it isstated was infeft in the house where Thomas McCAW lived, and the orchardand fey before the gate at Kerouchtree. (McKerlie)
