| 2. Samuel HERON, b. abt. 1849 |
Believed to be the son of Samuel HERON and Janet SINCLAIR. One reason isthat his first son's name is Samuel (after his father) and his firstdaughter's name is Janet (after his mother). Also according to SusanCLAYDON, in the 1851 census, Jane McWay DEWAR and her children are livingtwo properties away from Samuel's sister Agnes. (Where's Samuel?)
Susan CLAYDON did find reference to a Samuel HERON, widower, on the 1861and 1871 census for Nelson (BC?) in Canada the same area where his uncleWilliam Sinclair and family settled. My guess is that Samuel's wife Janedied shortly after the birth of their daughter Jane and that Samuelemigrated to be near his uncle.
1881: believed to be at 170 Main Street, Lanark, Scotland; unmarried;aged 32 years old; born Dalbeattie, Kirkcudbrightshire. This may not bethe son of this Samuel because no evidence to that effect yet!
