Buried in Monreith Cemetery, Kirkmaiden, Wigtownshire. His MI reads, "Inaffectionate remembrance of John Heron who died 11th February 1883, age78 years. Also his grand-daughter and only child of Captain Robert andCatherine Johnstone who died 24th November 1891, aged 17 years. AlsoLouisa Burnie his wife who died 27th January 1905 aged 90 years.
