Notes for Patrick HERON:

His marriage was the means, ultimately of uniting the properties ofKirrouchtree and Larg and formed into one barony under the title ofHERON. The date of the marriage of Patrick HERON is not mentioned butwith his wife, he got 10,000 merks as her tocher. This with the landwhich followed it made it a good marriage and from hostility the ties ofrelationship bound their parents in friendship. Patrick HERON, junioragreed with his brother-in-law, Alexander M'KIE of Palgoun for his shareof the Larg estate. It is stated in the family account that they clearedoff all the debts no doubt thereby meaning those which had been incurredthrough the purchase of land. The whole Larg estate was thus joined toKirrouchtree and as already mentioned was erected into one barony bycharter under the title of HERON through the interest of LordTullibardine. Netherbar was excepted having been previously sold to LordGalloway. We think that Patrick Heron, junior succeeded his father, asmember for the Stewartry in Parliament. Loaned money to his uncle Andrew
During Patrick HERON's lifetime, Henry HERON who was the last heir ofCressy Hall, England, named Patrick his successor based on the fact thatan ancestor of Patrick HERON was supposed to have migrated to Scotlandfrom Northumberland in the 13th century.
Died aged 89 years
july 5, 1704 - alive and at Kirrouchtrie with his father
